2025-02-22 14:12:01 +0000 UTCLucas annoys the heck out of me in Season 5, so I find it tough to extend him much grace 😅 The small town thing could be something I could convince myself of, but I think it’s more inconsistent writing than anything else. I get the feeling the writers weren’t super concerned with things like logic and continuity. 🤣 But a part of me gets it. It wouldn’t really be exciting to watch an hour of Haley teaching high school English and Lucas, Nathan, and Skills running basketball drills or whatever.

2025-02-22 00:05:44 +0000 UTCI think we also have to remember Tree Hill is a small town and Lucas is a Scott boy (man), so I'm sure his name gets him leeway or since he's a writer, he may have included time off in his contract due to book obligations (edits, tour, etc.) and used that time for his month off. Plus it helps him that he has Skills & Nathan helping with the team. Orrrr I'm just giving Lucas too much help in this situation and you can ignore me. 😂🤷♀️

2025-02-21 23:10:29 +0000 UTCI know we have to suspend disbelief to a certain extent, but I'm trying to think of a job in the real world where you could start the job, work a couple months, then skip town for an entire month because you got dumped and somehow still keep your job. Granted, a week or two probably would've been on the books for a honeymoon, but that raises another question. He's a high school basketball coach. Why the heck is he getting married in the middle of the season/school year in the first place? I mean, I know that the answer is because the plot needed it to happen, but running off for a month on a private yacht to lick his wounds doesn't exactly make Lucas a sympathetic character in this situation. I wanted to also comment about Mouth. I feel like every time I rewatch this series, I like his character less and less. It's not the actor's fault. He does a great job playing the character he was hired to play. But watching the scene with Millicent made me want to gag. I appreciate that she was feeling uncomfortable with the idea of sharing a bed with him because she doesn't have much experience with intimate relationships and that she was nervous to tell him that she was a virgin. And maybe I'm reading too much into it. Maybe he's just being a thoughtful and understanding partner. But his response gave me the ick. He pedestalizes her virginity. She tells him she's a virgin and his response is to ask how he got so lucky and tell her that's she's the perfect woman? Would he have had that same energy if she'd told him she'd had 5, 10, 20 partners? I mean, we've seen the way he acts when a woman he likes doesn't reciprocate his feelings. Also, wanted to mention that Season 5 aired in 2008, right after a writer's strike. That's why it's a shortened season. 😊

2025-02-21 18:56:37 +0000 UTCAhh so of course I watched this late last night until 3 in the morning, but I'm here now with my comment! Haha, I love Andy! "What car does Lindsay drive?" Like duh, shouldn't he know what car the woman he supposedly loves drives? But anyway, I always enjoyed the feel of that episode because it slowed things down and gave each person a chance to discuss their feelings. Of course, this is the first time I'm watching this episode since all the BTS stuff came out and oh my god, someone get that guy OFF my screen. I knew that scene was coming and tried to prepare for it, but what once was a cute scene of her returning to the record store is now BARF. Because now knowing he deliberately wrote himself into the episode and with Peyton due to Hilarie ignoring him is just so gross. But anyway, I enjoyed both of these episodes, and aww man, Q, I feel for him. I mean I get it. I've been injured during sports seasons and no, it didn't affect me getting scholarships since that's not what I did it for, but it did make me miss going to a couple of junior nationals and I absolutely was crushed to miss them. You can do it, Q! I also love his and Jamie's little friendship. And the nanny interviews scene always makes me laugh. Welcome back, Deb! Can't wait for the next upload!

2025-02-21 18:45:27 +0000 UTCSomething that always annoyed me about lucas, is he forgave and wanted Lindsey back after literally leaving him at the Alter. But when Peyton at like 19 and a year of dating said not right now when asked to marry him, he wanted to be done with the relationship and was so pissed at her meanwhile he's begging for forgiveness from Lindsey. Lol it's just crazy!! And I am completely 100% team Leyton on paper the way they are written it's just perfection... but scenes with brook and lucas reminds me of how much natural chemistry those two have!

2025-02-21 17:33:55 +0000 UTCI always appreciate when shows have the characters go to therapy and show that it's a normal, healthy thing for people, rather than acting like a person is crazy or weak for needing help. Because seriously if any characters from any show needed therapy it's the residents of Tree Hill. I feel like in the past the show hasn't always had the best track record of people seeking help being taken seriously. I'm mainly thinking of Deb and the issues she's dealt with (it's great to see her returning finally), but seriously they should all have been seeing someone because they all have major trauma.
