Next Week's Video Topic

I'm planning on talking about the decline of something next week. It's going to be the last video before Christmas and the final decline of 2020 so I'd like to make it something really good. Right now I'm between a few options. Let me know what you think.

Comments

Yes, looking like Yahoo will likely be next week's topic. Maybe sometime soon I'll put Borders up against something else for a vote. All this talk about it now makes me want to do it.

Company Man

All three interest me, particularly MGM.

Got it. Yes your videos are different from the rest.

Kasonia Kisangani

I see yahoo won the vote but fingers crossed for borders soon !

Megan Villarreal

I can't promise 2021 but all three will happen at some point.

Company Man

I used to be pretty concerned on whether or not others had covered the same topics as me but I've learned to mostly ignore them. My videos always seem to be a little different and offer new information so I figure that's justification enough to make the video.

Company Man

I think you're right. It's one of those cases where there was multiple separate reductions of them. It's probably my favorite story of the three.

Company Man

Appreciate the help. Looks like Yahoo may win here.

Company Man

As others have said, all are good topics. If I had to pick one, the decline of Yahoo interests me slightly more than the others. Whichever one you choose, I hope we get the other two sometime in 2021.

Jim Smith

I didn't know MGM was in decline. I chose Yahoo, but maybe you can do a MGM one down the road. Although some people will say that the decline of Yahoo is fairly well documented.

Kasonia Kisangani

There isn’t a bad choice on the list but I am most interested in MGM. They were so dominant for so long and it SEEMS their decline was very slow and prolonged (death of 1,000 cuts?). I don’t know if that is an accurate statement but that is my impression.

Jon

All are good choices. I picked Yahoo, because I remember it being so great back in the day and it just sort of faded away.

Chris Lion-Transler

I see so many comments in my videos saying there's an obvious simple answer and after making a ton of these videos I've learned that's never the case.

Company Man

Appreciate the advice Vincent. I disagree that Boarders is simple because many other book stores have survived well past Boarders such as Barnes & Nobel and Amazon. The fact that those still exist and Boarders doesn't tells you there's more to the story.

Company Man

I voted MGM, but looking at the rest of the votes, Yahoo would be my second choice. The decline of boarders is too simple. They sell books mostly in the digital age.

Redarmy

I miss Borders dearly, so I'm picking that one bc I am biased. |D

Catherine DeKorte

Borders and Yahoo would both be good. But the Borders story would make me sad b/c I really liked going there, especially a huge one at the Domain in Austin.
