I did a quick query on Discord to check if I should pause on Housewife Sim and participate in this: https://itch.io/jam/team-quimbly or skip the jam and keep pushing Housewife Sim. Housewife Sim's been delayed a few times, so what's another three-week break to make a quick and fun game, right?

Patrons on Discord agreed with that - and at the time of this post counting steering committee votes was at 38 in favor of the game jam, vs 6 to skip the jam and use the next 3 weeks on Housewife Sim.

The Game Jam theme is "The Rockin' 1950's" which totally threw me for a loop. Like, none of my ideas can work with that. I think that's the point though. I spent a lot of time today immersing myself in the 50s because I suck at history and came up with a good game idea. To get more into it since the theme doesn't resonate with me, I made a graphic with the gameplay loop and some of the color theming I'll use in the game.

I also made a Discord channel for the development for you all to get more real-time updates, and will be posting in there a lot. The initial game premise is already in there with more details past the image - so please go check it out if you can!

I'll be returning to Housewife Sim after this Game Jam and keep pushing for the release of that update early next year as my main priority. :D
