In AOTS, you play as Max, but the actions of Max aren't the only actions you see as the player - you also are aware of the story and motives behind Alexandra, including some cutscenes and story Alexandra knows - and you as the player know - but Max may be unaware of.

Alexandra is a genius in every sense of the word. Her knowledge related to fertility science and mammalian biology in general makes her a leader and well-renowned expert in every sense. It's therefore a surprise that she's working for Victoria as the director of the medical bay on AOTS. What could inspire her to be there - and why wouldn't she be back on the mainland doing experiments to further science?

Alexandra has been a fun character to make. Her influence, scientific prowess, and desire to continue to pursue the science of fertility past what's mainstream ethically acceptable are all key story drivers to AOTS.
