New release! V0.3.0 now available for "Corrupted Soul"
Added 2024-03-29 10:41:43 +0000 UTCHello, Corrupted Souls!
Today is release day! As V0.2.2 goes public, I am proud to present to you V0.3.0!
Before talking about what's new I wanna drop a number: 25000. This is the number of words the game currently contains (V0.3.0 included).
If the new content doesn't start immediately, replay the last part of the previous update! But normally it should start automatically.
Don't forget to transfer your "save" folder!
What's new?
In this version I added:
~600 new renders
36 new animations (This is not a joke, I went on a rampage with the options) including:
18 Jane animations
12 Emilie animations
7 Anna animations
(Once again, I'm not counting it wrong!)
I tried a new interactive way of playing foot fetish kink (I'll be happy to get some feedback on it!)
The story continues for Jane, you will play her much more in this update with a fully customizable event!
You will face a decision on Emilie's path, I'm not sure of the impact as of right now, get a save from both sides!
Anna's path is updated so that you can rejoin if you're not on it (BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO!). If you were already on her path, try not to be. Hehe...
And finally, for John, the story continues! You will connect everything through him and will be faced with two important decisions for the future! Choose wisely!
Gameplay changes:
I've fixed quite a few typos in this update since the start of the game, once again I apologize for that!
I also reworked the introduction and added some "tempo" conversations which take place: at the start of the game and before the end of each update (Yes, even previous updates). This is to insist on the fact that the game has a fictionnal plot and will surely intrigue you as to "who" is speaking!
All scenes with a "kink" are now avoidable, including Anna's first meeting in her apartment.
I also reworked the game night for Jane when you choose not to participate: when you encounter Freddie in the corridor, you can stop the event before Freddie goes hard!
The save menu has been updated, you can now load a game without going back to the menu and see what map your character is on.
Gallery updates
The gallery is already updated with all the new scenes. A new code will be delivered with all the links at the end of my speech. I fixed some replay while I was at it. Remember that it is stil fairly new to me, but if you're lost don't hesitate to contact me here or on Discord!
If you're new to my Patreon, just enter the code on the smoking mirror in the new house.
If you were already a Corrupted Soul, to access the new scenes you will see a red flame in the gallery map, click on it and enter the new code!

Walkthrough file
As promised, I have also attached to this post a first walkthrough, use it, don't use it... It's here and available for you, Corrupted Souls!
It will still take a little more time for the cheat system, I legitimately don't want to take the risk of delaying an update too long for that, because I have to check/modify everything from the beginning... Sorry about that!
Aaaand that's it for me. I teased this version enough I think! Time for fun!

It would be really helpful if you had a quest list. And I think it is exactly because there is only one quest open all the time. Currently you expect the player to remember it. For the home: I did find the home on the first reference. You had the little stars there and there was the short message. My point is: there is no reference point to it later. Basically, you ask your player to remember it. Cinema and bus: You cannot expect your player to read everything with high precision and to interpret too much into it. Is this hint good enough to understand you have to go and look for a bus? It is a stretch. Some will clearly take the hint others wont. Keep in mind: as you are designing the game, you know the right answers because you design the thing. You have to picture the player not knowing all the stuff that you know. The player is totally blank as to what the story is and what is where. You have to tell all of that to your player. Also, the player cannot remember everything and maybe the player hastily clicks by some of the text and misses the hints that you provided. The engine you use does not allow to go back and read something again. So click hastily and it is over. Maybe the player gets distracted by something outside the game, saves the game and comes back hours later. He has no clue what to do next unless he remembers every single bit about the game. That is unrealistic. I often put games away (in particular when they are somewhat longer) and come back. Then I ask myself "Where was I?" and I need to check what I was about to do. You provide no reference points for that. Finally, this is an adult game, most players will play it to experience the thrill of the adult entertainment. They are willing to solve some puzzles and do some grind to get there, but not everybody will attentively read every word of your dialogues and then try to read between the lines as well to not miss anything. They may just click along to see where the story is heading. All of a sudden, the dialogue is over and I should maneuver the MC through the world and I have missed the clue as where I need to go. Now what? I am afraid people are more likely to put away your game because they don't want to bother to figure out where to go and what to click in order to progress through the story rather than that they think, it is too easy. By building such large maps that the player can run around and so few hints as where to go or what to do, most likely people will be frustrated sooner or later and you will not get too big an audience. What I found good about your game was the scene at home on day one. The MC has to go to all different places: change to casual clothes, take a bath, eat dinner, etc. That was good and well, because you could easily find the stars that lead to the next point of interest and thus proceed through the story. That is fine, since the map that I was looking for the next POI was small enough and then it works. But the other stuff, too far apart and too unclear where to look. I hope you get my point and don't take any offense in what I am writing here. I am not trying to take down your work by any means. I admire what you have created. I just want to share my experience with your game and my concerns on how this may play out when the content gets bigger and bigger. That is all. You are the artist and the creator of this world and you do as you please. Take care!

2024-04-03 19:26:14 +0000 UTCOh, I don't know those titles I'll check them out. For study purposes. Hehe. I've been thinking about a quest log like you said, I'll put one up in the future but it will only be to let people know which quest is active (well except if you are a Corrupted Soul, then it will be the real cheat system I'm working on with directions). Please note that there is only one active quest at a time. Sometimes this quest can be completed by two different ways (like when Jane is at the bar and you must decide what to do back on John). As for the references of places: - For home, when you leave the office building for the first time isn't there an event showing up when you walk outside telling you word for word: "Let's go home quickly since it's just near by..." and stars appears above the entrance? - For cinema, last sentence John says in the hallway is: "DAMN! The bus is here, I need to hurry in!" Even if you don't know you must take a bus you should at least notice the big one that wasn't right outside the building before... And it goes on and on like this... Maybe I'm old but that's enough direction for me to guess what's next? (For me further directions on what to do are legit cheats, but as I said, they will be available for Corrupted Souls in the future!)

2024-04-02 08:19:18 +0000 UTCI am afraid, I wasn't very clear. I understand that this is not a linear VN. That is totally fine. I also understand that you use the RPGM. I played a number of games that are using the same engine. In fact, I like these games a lot. The point that I am making is this: In these games, there are different quests. They may happen in parallel or in sequence. But the quests are coming up as the player progresses through the game. My point is: the player needs to have some guidance as to what quest is available and what he has to do. The argument "if you read, it's easy" is stupid. The question is that you read something, but what you read. That is the art. You give the player a message, requesting him to do something and then expect him to navigate the world you created to do the task. But the guidance has to be given, else it is just trial and error to a point where very few will follow. Maybe you want to look at creators such as Trinian (Game: "Missy") or Draga ("Sheroni Girls"). The games were made with the same engine and the MC has to carry out a number of tasks to progress through the story. But there is always a QUest log, where the player can see what needs to be done. And the places of interest are marked with flashing stars (like you did it). But the player has a chance to understand what is where (for example in "Missy", when you have to go to a certain location, there is an indication where about to find it, and so on.). But here: There isn't even a reference where the home of the MC is at. The player is supposed to navigate the MC to the cinema using a bus. Unless I read the walk-through, I have no idea that I need to ride a bus to get to the cinema. How do you expect the player to know that?

2024-04-02 07:30:53 +0000 UTCThank you again for your support! Okay I'll go in order: - The game is made with RPGM, it's not a linear story that you can speed through and hope you know what to do (I find those games boring and wanted to do something different, but maybe that's just me) - The walkthrough is only in its first version and is subject to change! (Mainly because the cheat system will most likely replace it for Corrupted Souls once it's available) - As for what to do, I've already discussed it with some Patreons, the conclusion is generally the same: if you read, it's easy :) - I admit that some behaviors are weird because I didn't know how to do them differently when I did them (Yep first game. Like the bus like you said, I think I will add some stars at the entrance in the future) but I assumed that once you figured out the thing, it was no longer a problem? As for the indication to take it, like I said if you read it's easy (Usually the last few sentences tell you what to do)! - And finally, for the lesbian content/female protagonist: keep going on the story you'll see soon enough, especially from game night event ^^ I really don't want to go for a linear story where you just follow. Like I said I find it boring. So I give hints in conversations, in thoughts... And yes I expect the player to wonder a little on the map sometimes, not because I'm a sadist... But because an entertaining story is a story that you dive into, and when you dive you don't know in advance what is going to happen. At least, that's what I think... I won't apologies for the long speech this time, it's not a release note xD

2024-04-01 21:54:33 +0000 UTCHmmm....I just signed up to your patreon page, downloaded V0.3.0 of "Kibo: Slow fall" and gave it a go. I have to say, it is very confusing. Without the walk-through, it is absolutely hopeless and even the walkthrough is not very clear. Unless you manage to provide more intuitive guidance to the player, I think this is going to be mostly frustrating. Basically, you have lined out very specific tasks and events and it is not very clear what has to be done next. On top of that the control is not particularly handy. For example: try to ride a bus....I had to walk all over the bus until I ended up riding it. There was no indication of where to go to get on the bus. Unless I had the walk through page open, I wouldn't even know, that I should try to get onto the bus....please try to come up with some sort of hints or explanation inside the game. Having to swap between the game and an external file to click through the thing is not very interesting. Finally: You indicated that this game contains lesbian content and that one can play as the female protagonist. I didn't see this happening so far. Is that still upcoming or how do I have to understand this?
