Update: Possible new tier?
Added 2024-06-02 18:10:42 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
Today I was thinking to introduce a new tier.
Yes, a new one. A new level. For commissions!
It might be expensive but I'll do exactly and whatever you want at least once a month. It will be close to 4 or 5 people tho, I can't take much more than that!
I'll ask other artists around and see what they suggest me to do but what do you think?
Would you be interested in such idea? Let me know in the comments :D

I used to do this on my own patreon, but even when I was working part time, the demand was hard to keep up with, especially when IRL got in the way or i wanted to work on personal projects. If you do make the tier, I'd recommend making it a limit of 3 people at max. So much less stress for yourself and you'll probably have more time for your own works.

2024-06-02 23:53:10 +0000 UTCEven though it sounds interesting, I think commissions should be something that can be talked about prior. As someone else stated: What if you don’t want to do something that is being commissioned, but the person already paid for it. That would surely pose a difficulty. I also believe it would put a lot more pressure on you than taking commissions the regular way.

2024-06-02 19:37:08 +0000 UTCI'd think it would be easier for buyers and an artist to take commissions on request separate from patreon, not only so you could completely control how many commissions you take on at any given time based on your schedule, but also patreon billing is weird with how it bills when you sign up and again on the first of the month. It would also mean you can review requests before agreeing and taking on/charging for the commission.. I imagine it could potentially cause issues if someone signs up and pays for a commission tier but then there is a conflict about their request? <3 I do not have experience on either side of this, though, so these are just my immediate thoughts :)

2024-06-02 18:51:13 +0000 UTCI think it depends on the people you have so far, and how often commissions are taken. If the tier you have most is also the most expensive, and you always have commissions to do, I'd totally say go for it! Because then you already know people will subscribe! ^o^ And 4 sounds reasonable. One per week should be doable, I think. ♥

2024-06-02 18:33:42 +0000 UTCMaybe to keep costs reasonable, it could be that you receive a commission every 3 months? So the costs are spread for us, and you’re not overworking yourself every month

2024-06-02 18:19:00 +0000 UTCPersonally, if I'm going to order an illustration from you, I'd rather ask for it directly. My country taxes Patreon subscriptions at around 10%, which makes a big difference compared to a request made on social networks.
