The Spring Equinox (Poem)
Added 2025-03-21 00:51:27 +0000 UTCDay of balance, day of equality,
let the day and the night sing together as equals,
Let the flowers bloom now that winter has ended
The cold is over, and now the earth shall blossom—
may I find joy in this beauty.
And I, like the earth, shall change.
My fur will thin, as the days grow warmer and lengthen,
coming off in great tumbleweeds as my coat renews itself,
as I become ready for the touch of the sun.
The birds shall sing, and I shall listen to them with joy,
my ears pricked and attentive to their tunes.
The clouds will blow, bringing the promise spring rains
And wildflowers in the fields,
The grass will grow now and become thick and lush
And I shall be content in the soft winds that blow
Love and new life will come, and as pack there will be jubilation!
Together we shall sing in the night by a fire low and crackling,
Pushing out the last of the chill as new stories are made
as nature’s wonder surrounds us
Together this shall be a season of sowing and a season of growth.
Together we will find peace in the spring,
