Yeah that's wild. I'm sorry that you were employed without payment 😂 to me it's mostly an indication of how the education system isn't optimal in that work has to be offloaded to students. I'm sorry you caught flak from your classmates but the perk of one test every so often isn't so bad, so well done for wrangling that 😅

Hi :) Since you were quite surprised by Willow substituting Ms Calendar, I felt like mentioning my experience. In college, I used to be basically a Hermione - even finished sentences for the professors. So I was, in fact, asked by a philosophy teacher to substitute a couple of times. She knew I was passionate about the subject and knew a lot. The thing that bothered me personally tho was her asking me to GRADE my classmates. I wasn't popular already due to being a "good girl", and that literally was a nail to the coffin bc I refused to give all "A"s to the students who were not prepared. The teacher, thankfully, realized what was going on and stopped asking me after the evaluation thing. She even offered me to come to her class only once a month to pass a test if I'd like since she was confident I could ^^' I hope it doesn't come off as a brag, just wanted to confirm that yes, some teachers absolutely do that OR used to do that around 2000s.

The examples you draw on are what I had in mind when I was thinking of what I said. The ramps for buses and assistance for trains. My partner has had exactly the same experiences and I HATE when I'm with them and the staff etc just look and talk to me. The amount of times I've said 'why are you asking me?' for things clearly meant for them. I'm so sorry you have to go through all that, I know how taxing it is both physically and mentally and it's not even slightly fair. I'm sure you know this already but you are definitely not even slightly the problem ❤️

Thank you so much for what you said about the need for Spike to ‘perform’ in order to keep those around him happy, as he is reliant on them. As a wheelchair user, I definitely feel the pressure to be amenable to people who I am reliant on for support, for example, bus drivers or railway staff who determine whether or not I can get on or off of transport. The power dynamic is also, unfortunately, compounded when the driver/station staff are male and I’m travelling alone. Interestingly, I’m not asked as many questions, told to ‘smile’ if I want the ramp lowering, or have as many comments about my worth as a human being directed at me when my partner or friends are around… It’s not an observation I’d picked up on in this episode before, so thanks for highlighting.
