Happy catching up! Wishing all the good things and smooth times for your real life πŸ’™ Yeah I've just got to Faith and she's perfect for where Buffy's arc is. Wish we'd seen more of Kendra but alas πŸ˜…

As Angelus would say: "Yeah baby! I'm back" More seriously, I'm glad I can finally catch up with your reactions and your insights about this show but sometimes real life things have to be taken cared of first. Not much to say about this part 1 but I really enjoyed that you are wondering about the vampire lore and the Romani curse. I've already said I think the curse is bloody unfair and pretty stupid in another video of yours so I won't repeat it again here (although, I kind of did^^). I will just say that you will find more details (maybe not answers per se) in the Angel show. Since you already seen the first few episodes of season 3, here is my take on Kendra's death. In my opinion, Kendra's character was created as a mirror for Buffy. She is what a slayer is supposed to be according to the watchers council. In that sense, she is a tragic character because we see what it's like to have nothing but your mission as a slayer. And, as most of the slayers had, she died very young. The problem with that characterization is that Kendra's story is, indeed, tragic but also kind of boring and not really very compelling. Not the actress' fault (she did what she could with the story that was given to her) and yes, her character could have evolved more later on, but the scenarists had another story (another mirror for Buffy) in mind which couldn't be told with Kendra's character. So Kendra died for Faith to be created. Pretty sad but (knowing what will happen), I think it was a necessary sacrifice. I'm really eager to see part 2 now but it is very late so I will wait until tomorrow's evening.

Great insights of Angel/Angelus and Vampire lore... Those themes are explored in more details on Angel's Show, and should i say u will probably enjoy it a lot, cause the show is aimed to a more adult audiences

Just got back home after an exhuasting week having to supervise a school trip - this two-parter was exactly what I needed to find in my inbox! Unintentional hilarity when you thought the voiceover might be Angel and going "nice voice work" only to immediately say "Oh." when hearing Boreanaz's attempt at an Irish accent. Boreanaz has recalled in interviews how Whedon pitched him the possibility of the spinoff show on the day of shooting these scenes, and he was legitimately worrying he was about to be fired over his bad accent when he was asked to Whedon's office. πŸ˜†

Awesome commentary as always! Angel being punished for Angelus crimes feels unfair to me too but as Jenny’s uncle said, the curse was not justice, it was vengeance. They didn’t care about who they were punishing. They just wanted revenge and to inflict pain.
