Claire Clayworth (p.2 draft)

A few months back, I had a poll about which story I should continue next--the Claire Clayworth story, or the Jenny Poussin one. The result was (at the time) Claire Clayworth, so I got back to it. It proved surprisingly difficult to continue because a lot of time had passed since I'd started it, and some of it "felt" wrong.
After much consideration, I restarted writing it from the beginning because I didn't think the original point of view (Naughtybelle's) worked as well for the second part. Instead, I rewrote it from Claire's perspective (still first person). I think the third chapter will also be 1st person, but this time from Denise's perspective. I'm sure I'll eventually return to Naughtybelle's POV, but it's kind of fun to switch it around, and it lets us better feel the helplessness of the characters involved.
I thought I'd post it for your amusement here and maybe get some feedback or input from you.
