The (Interactive) Toment of Nicole Swan

Once upon a time (in 2013, I think), I began writing The Torment of Nicole Swan, but got stuck somewhere and never finished it. Occasionally, a reader will drop by and ask me if I was ever going to continue it, but honestly, I got stuck so badly that nothing short of a full reboot would make me happy.

So this is what I'm trying to do. Same characters, same basic premise (more or less), but this time, I'm going to go differently about it. I know my ending (which was a problem in the original version) and I want to involve my readers in the narrative. Let's see what you guys think of this first segment--and please cast your vote by answering 1, 2 or 3 in the comments.
