Yeah, I had encountered another comic that did that. They had hosted publicly to not join near the end of the month, but what you are doing is more than fair. Good for you!

2021-03-25 21:12:01 +0000 UTCThere is, but once I do that, there's no turning back. It's a one-way decision (Patreon rules). It's also a bit unfair to people who join on, say, the 29th of the month (they get charged right away), then get charged once more on the 1st of the following month. So for now, I'm living with it. But unless someone reaches out to me to explain why they have to leave, I block culprits so they can't do it again. If they reach out to me, though, I can remove the block. Everybody gets a second chance.
