Jaycee's Blog - Tue, Aug 31

The notebook, it turns out, was easier to use and move around than I thought. Jennifer dropped by last night to deliver my birthday gift a few weeks in advance. She and her boyfriend Kenneth are going on a 3-week train trip across Canada. Since they won't be here mid-September, she gave me the package with strict instructions NOT to open it until my birthday.

While I was serving up refreshments (beer!), she noticed the notebook on the kitchen table and started flipping through it before I could warn her not to touch that. Since it's all encoded, she couldn't make out what it was and looked me, puzzled.

"New hobby?"

I handed her a beer and lied a little. "Some kind of puzzle Brooke gave me."

She rolled her eyes a little. "You two are such nerds!"

It was my turn to roll my eyes and point at her massive boobs. "Before you got those, I remember you being a bit of a nerd too."

"A MUSIC nerd," she said, punching me hard in the arm. "Not a NERD nerd."

So it was pretty obvious that the spell either only affected ME or maybe men in general, so it looked safe to ask her to flip through the pages for me. She thought it was weird, but I'm generally weird anyway, so...par for the course?

Anyway, back when I had to decode the notebook to locate Minx and Attitude, I got pretty good at deciphering the text live, so I just glanced at the titles at the top of each page until one caught my attention. It read: "On Subjugating Faeries."

It looked several pages long and Jen seemed in a hurry to get going, so (with her help) I took photos of each page on my phone, then asked her to put the book back in its place in my library.

I'll be translating this segment today. If this is what I think it is, it might help me turn maybe one of the faeries (or all of them) into my slaves or something. Maybe at LAST I could have some peace of mind and a normal life.

Wouldn't THAT be something?

I've been on the receiving end of THEIR subjugation for well over a decade now, and sometimes a counter-offensive is the only way to achieve peace and balance. And I'm not a megalomaniacal psychopath bent on world domination, I'm just a regular guy trying to live a normal life. Maybe bang a few hot chicks along the way (but who could blame me for that?).

I'll be honest, I feel like that can only possibly go badly. "Subjugate" is not a word in common use by people who aren't trying to take over countries, and I don't feel like it's going to have any positive applications.
