Added 2021-12-20 10:47:44 +0000 UTCBelieve it or not, once I started this story arc with Marie, Alberta and Herman, I got stuck in a bad way. I had the general idea of where the storyline would go up to the last few strips and I knew that in the end, Alberta would end up having sex with Herman. I knew that Herman could control her, but moving him "into position" to do so and learn that he had that ability presented me with a challenge that I didn't know how to address.
In the end, I got everyone into the confessional and let things take their course. I'm really happy with how this strip turned out, as well as the next few ones.
And if anyone's curious, how did I beat writer's block? Persistence. Writer's block is like any wall. You chip at it long enough, you'll break through. There's always a way out, you just need to keep going.
