Join me in welcoming back two characters from pre-reboot that I wasn't sure were going to be here: Patience and Sir Thane. If you're a new reader, let me catch you up a little on who those characters used to be.
- Patience: originally "just" a female guard, I decided at some point that she was an INCREDIBLY BUSTY woman who just hid her assets in what I call (warning, incoming D&D reference!) a Chestplate of Holding. It's an item inspired by the iconic Bag of Holding, except it's used for hiding huge boobs. (At some point, I'll make the D&D stats for this.) She eventually went on to become a regular character and was in a relationship with another (kinda dim) male guard named Lucky.
- Sir Thane: he was the very first character I ever featured in Bloomin' Faeries! Cursed by a faerie for having (accidentally) peed on her, he had a perma-erection and the (accidental) ability to make women insanely aroused within a certain radius. He originally would curse a lot and use filthy language (which his horse Gustav would cleverly obfuscate with his speech balloons), but I eventually dropped that part. Lastly (and probably more importantly), his curse also accidentally turned women he slept with into great beauties.
I wasn't going to reintroduce Sir Thane after the reboot. I felt that while he makes women pretty, there wasn't much I could do with him narratively. He's not a deep character and doesn't really have a strong story arc. During a brainstorm (in March or April), however, we devised an interesting story where he might bring an interesting plot point. If you've been reading the scripts, you may even have figured it out (it involves Alberta). It was also an opportunity to bring back Baby (in pre-Thane form). She's a reader favorite, so I guess I don't have much of a choice, do I? :)
Anyway, that's where we are. Hope you enjoy the timelapse.
