A Bit of Bad News

So those of you who follow the calendar probably know that I have failed a few deliveries recently:

A sketch on July 12
An X-rated pinup on July 20
An R-rated pinup on July 22

I'm embarrassed to say, a new artist that I commissioned has failed to come through and the pinups won't be coming. I used his services in the past and he delivered promptly, so early June, I re-ordered three commissions from him. He seemed in a rush to get some money and I don't mind helping out artists a bit once in a while, so I prepaid all three commissions. (He did deliver some rudimentary sketches, which I'm including below so at least you get a LITTLE something for the expense.) After a month of silence, I reached out again; he said he'd had some technical difficulties and would finish them "soon." I reached out again at the beginning of last weeks, but no response. I tried again on Saturday, still no response.

So now I'm writing it off and moving on. My apologies. I usually can tell the flakes and avoid this, but once in a while, I get blindsided. This seemed someone with a reputation in adult illustration, so I thought I was safe using his services. Ah well. Live and learn. He may come through yet (maybe something tragic happened in his life), but I won't be holding out my breath.

The commissions, for the record, were a sequence involving Alberta getting her wish.

Note that for the third one, I wanted a less "happy" expression, more like a "headache" face. The artist said it'd be no trouble, that he'd change that during the final work—which never came. Who knows, if you think it'd be a sequence worth completing, I'll get someone else to do it.
