Jaycee's Blog - Wed, Dec 6

[Note: I wrote this blog around the time it was due, but as you'll understand, it took me a bit of time getting the necessary access to post it.]

There's good and bad news. The good news is that through clever use of tattoos, I've been able to achieve a form of limited magical nondetection. I can spend about 8-12 hours in a location before enough of my essence has accumulated in my area to be detectable by a faerie. And while it's not as good as full nondetection like what Priya has, it's good enough considering the bad news.

The bad news? You knew this was going to happen: I missed the last full moon ritual by one hour (don't even ASK) so now I'm on the run. I can't go back to my place nor can I take a chance and contact any local friends. The only friend I can really reach out to is Brooke, who's living my life in Quebec City. With three faeries living with him (reminder: Fantasia, Grief, and Naughtybelle), it's unlikely Tarantina will be looking for trouble there.

So I'm currently living a wandering life. Have been for a week already. Getting food for money is tricky. I steal some stuff from the supermarket from time to time. And with winter coming and temperatures getting colder, finding shelter is even trickier. I don't want to go to shelters because I suspect Tarantina could be looking for me there. I have to really live off the grid.

On the positive side, I've got enough tattoo abilities (and physical training) to be a decent athlete. I have enhanced perception and (as previously mentioned, I think) very high tolerance to pain, which makes me a decent combatant. So while living on the street hasn't exactly been a picnic, I'm not in any immediate danger. But like a shark, I have to keep moving around to avoid leaving a trail and getting found by Tarantina. I'm not gonna lie, it's very stressful. If she finds me, there just aren't enough tattoos in the world to protect me.

So now my quest is to figure out how to kill a dark fae.

Wish me luck.
