Ready for the Water?

Hi Guys,

Ava here… again 🙂

Okay, I know I keep saying this, but we’ve checked so many items off our list this week—we’re really zooming along!

We kicked off the week by tackling some of the more “comfort-related” projects in preparation for the trip north—like building a bed and installing the head. We also ripped out the old oven and stove, and let me tell you, there’s something very therapeutic about demolition!

Then Mads got his beloved NMEA 2000 network up and running, along with the exhaust temperature alarms. We knocked out a bunch of smaller tasks too—changing the engine oil, checking all the nuts and bolts on the engines, and closing all the thru-hulls.

Now that the list is finally shrinking, we’ve started tidying up and packing things under the boat. The tool trailer is just about ready to be hauled north, and we packed up a few of the treasures left behind by Bryan—like the little plastic shed we’ve been using as a chemical locker. She’s collapsed and ready to roll. We also did a major dump run with trash that’s been piling up for months. Felt so good to get that out.

And—exciting news! Mantus is generously sponsoring us with one of their brand-new rigid dinghies, and she arrived yesterday! Let me tell you, she's a beaut. We can’t wait to take her for a test ride (and scope out the depth where we’ll be launching the catamaran!).

Speaking of launching... we’re pretty much ready to go on our end. The catamaran is prepped, the crane company is lined up—now we’re just waiting on the yard owner to find a trailer to pull us out. We were hoping to splash next week, but honestly, we’re on his timeline, and it’s a bit of a mystery. Fingers crossed it all comes together before I have to head back to London.

Until then, we’ll keep buttoning things up and getting ready. We’re so close to splashing, and we’re beyond excited to bring you along for the next big step!

Great progress. Glad to see Mads has adult supervision again. 🙂
