[RPO - 'Devlog'] Upcoming New System + the Plans for Expansions over Nov. - Dec.

RECENT COSMETIC AND FUNCTIONAL CHANGES

First of all, and this is something some of you probably have noticed already, the old choice pop up system is now gone. I have replaced it with the same approach I have been using since the pre werewolf pack BG update came out - as said approach came with it.

So now, all my pop ups are of the same style, as shown below:

Another thing some of you probably already have noticed is that the setting system got some cosmetic changes, and improvements I even would say.

NEW: ADDITIONAL CHANGE TO WW COMPATIBILITY

Now, on the matter of compatibility with wicked whims, I posted recently about some compatibility improvements.

I am happy to announce that there is one more such improvement now.

After a chat with Turbo, it turns out the reason why jealousy for WW stuff wasn't recognizing cases from my mods that preclude jealousy was nothing serious at all.

It was very simple to work around and that means that now, every context that warrants NO jealousy in Open Love Life and RPO m7 jealousy & fidelity will be in effect for WW interactions too.

UPCOMING very soon:

(NEW SETTING) TO DELAY AUTO DISCOVERY OF PREGNANCY TILL END OF 1ST TRIMESTER

All right, now onto the completely new things.

This is a feature that came from several requests of last week on my discord.

These from users who felt that the automatic discovery of pregnancy when not taking a test happens too fast in game.

Their request then made me think that it can be a bit silly that ALL Sims note they're pregnancy before they're even showing, and that there was something behind the complaint of these users!

Therefore:

It is a new setting and system that enables you, if you so wish, to push back the automatic discovery of pregnancy that normally happens after a day of 'not showing' stage, to happen instead at the switch between first and second trimester.

So, a Sim will be starting to show because they are in their first trimester, but if they haven't taken a test, they still won't be sure that they're pregnant, unless they take a test or wait all the way to the second trimester.
So they won't have a trimester moodlet or pregnancy notifications until one of these things happens.

This give us fun possibilities such as this new interaction on mirrors, "Observe Self" (excuse missing cap in the screenshot!), for Sims who are in their 1st trimester and showing but don't realize it's a pregnancy yet.

The Sim has a chance to get doubts or to not notice anything much.

There's a few other tidbits like this interaction to make this more alive for y'all.

Remember, this all is a Setting, so, you don't have to play with this system!!

Alright, alright.

While on paper this sounds quite simple to put together, in reality it wasn't because of the following.

The main Big Deal was integrating this with my own stuff from other mods of the RPO collection. Some of it is time sensitive and I had to come up with workarounds.

The other Big Deal is integrating with other mods by other people. Turns out quite a bit hinges on the moment of discovery of pregnancy!

So, if you use mods from other people that add pregnancy related interactions for Sims who are aware they're pregnant, for example, I need to integrate with them so that those do not show up for Sims who are in their first trimester and showing etc but still not aware of it.
This is something I can do unilaterally, I just need consent and references from the other modders. So let me know which mods you use that would need integration : D

I am currently working on this "Compatibility with other modders" aspect and once that is done, will be ready to release this update.

Please note that this is NOT THE SAME THING as the cryptic pregnancy feature.
[Cryptic pregnancy is a rare occurrence in which a person is pregnant but has no pregnant belly, might still be getting periods, and basically experiences little to no signs of pregnancy, sometimes all the way into the moment of labor!  
In game, if you have the cryptic pregnancy setting ON, 5% of pregnancies are cryptic.]

UPCOMING soon: A little QUALITY OF LIFE thing

In addition to that, there is another new feature upcoming in next update, which is something very small but that can still help with quality of life.

Between all the RPO mods, there are a lot of individual characteristics a Sim can have, and a lot of menus in which each type of characteristic (turn ons, fertility, preferences about family, woohoo roles, etc) gets changed.

This new feature makes it easier to navigate by offering a summary of all of your sim's RPO attributes in one place and quick links to change each thing.

As of now this is done as a pop up window, but it's looking pretty cramped, so I might rework it to something else, which is why I won't show it as it is now!

What other RPO mod expansions are planned to be coming in the following weeks:

Remember, 'Additions / expansions to existing RPO mods' is what won the poll, so.
A LOT is going to happen, probably there will be several releases.

I hope to go over every RPO mod and rework background stuff as needed in addition to adding new features.

Here is a non comprehensive list of the major plans:

- M1 Family preferences: possibility for preferences to change due to life experiences / events (setting)

- M2 expansion of protection failure system to let sims know exactly what failed. New ways of protecting from pregnancy.

- m3 WTDs: rework of the reactions into a pop up system, some potential additions 

- m4 paternity testing: better handling of and fixes for pregnant npc cases, a brand new additional paternity system for pre existing kids, and tests for blood relations of other types, etc. Global DNA testing system for all orts of family links.

- m5 teen pregnancy and reactions: general expansions and new systems for impregnators

- M6 temporary separations:  ? (don't remember rn what I'd said before)

- m7 jealousy and fidelity: new features regarding jealousy, new system for drama with the 'affair' sim in the handling of affairs 

- m8 insemination / surrogacy: egg and sperm donation

- m9 adoption: ? (don't remember rn what I'd said before)

- m10 permanent separation: highly requested step family stuff of all sorts

- m11: additions and reworks

- m12: additions for pregnancy recovery

- m13 miscarriages and pregnancy loss: stillbirth (setting!)

- m14: already made additions, maybe some more

- m15 romance and friendship: finishing the letter sending system 

- m16 meet and mingle dating app: further developments to the private message system 

- m18 expanded woohoo: more locations and more Sims for expanded Woohoo activities

- m19 Adult life: addition of new kinks (woohoo styles)

This is what I remember off the top of my head, there's more around in notes and convos with various ones of you so don't panic if you don't see something on the list! :)
