Hi everyone,
Here's a last BETA update for this year.
RPO M2 feature update - testing version.
**************
NEW RPO BETA VERSION (files attached)
You don't have to beta test - update, it's up to you.
but if you do want, you can try it out and then make suggestions if necessary
If you DO decide to use this BETA, let me know if anything in it seems amiss! : D
**************
DEC 31: important fixes
December 30: additions and fixes
December 29: v2.97 beta uploaded

Main changes:
NEW BIRTH CONTROL METHODS / OPTIONS
- In addition to the pill, Sims can now also get shots, patches, and copper and hormonal IUDs.
- We also have new Non Medical options now (in addition to the pre existing 'Woohoo protection items'): pull out method and cycle based partial abstinence approach.
- hormonal birth control side effects are now optional

ADDITIONS TO PROTECTION FAILURE SYSTEM
- Now Sims will be reacting upon pregnancy discovery about what protection they used and what failed.
- 'bemoan not using protection' now changes to 'bemoan protection failure' if a pregnancy occurred due to failure of protection.
- Now Sims can tell a child they were the result of a birth control failure / accident

ADDITION AND CHANGES TO CYCLICAL SYSTEM
- I changed the setting for cyclical system a bit. Now it will apply to everyone always if it's on, and apply to nobody if it's off. But you can still opt out individual Sims from the cycles if it's set to on.
- Now you can customize cycle length.
- per persistent requests, now there is an optional period aspect to cycles.

There will be a Second Pass of updates to this with more additions later.

Comments
Hi, if a sim doesn't want a child just then, in my mind they would pick 'does not want children' as that is for temporary as much as it is for ever (it's different from 'hates children', much more circumstancial). And a sim who's more likely to want children overall would be more likely to accept pregnancy etc. Putting 'bemoan' on Sims who want children would be going against his design / intention basically. HOWEVER to address this confusion some people have regarding the intentions of these preferences, I have been thinking of adding another level of preference to specify how strongly a sim doesn't want kids - to spell it out if it is a never ever thing or not, and have Sims be able to accept pregnancy automatically / much easier if they're really not against the idea overall.

2024-01-03 04:32:36 +0000 UTCHi, 'try for baby' doesn't exist with my m2 Installed because it adds pregnancy risk to Woohoo instead. There is also 'try for pregnancy' added, which is the same but with higher chances

2024-01-01 06:16:37 +0000 UTCHappy New Year! Hi. I just downloaded this wonderful mod and forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong area, I only have this mod of yours in my mod folder. The problem is my 2 same sex married males can not do the "try baby" . The icon is there only on the bed, not in the romance menu, for them to try for baby, but when I click on it - the 2 males go their separate ways and do other things. If I click on the bed for just woohoo, they woohoo. Can you or some nice person tell me what I'm doing wrong? I took out your mod to test without, and they can try for baby. Thank you!

2023-12-30 19:57:59 +0000 UTCHi! So I have a question. I am playing a household with multiple sims. The married couple with a pink romance bar shows me the options for non-medical birth control. But another sim in the household has a "Friends with Benefits" relationship with an unplayed, non-household sim and I do not get the non-medical birth control options for them. Is it possible to have these options available for the "Friends with Benefits" relationship? Or are they already there and I'm just missing them? Thank you!

2023-12-30 13:43:31 +0000 UTCThis is great! If they are happy or neutral but are using protection and it fails do they still get the option to "bemoan"? I know that may seem counterintuitive, but if you were actively protecting one imagines maybe you didn't want a child just then (or with that partner) even if you might be happy to have one generally.
