Hey everyone! Let me present to you The City of Talehatta, the second map for the Tropical Swamps theme.

On a hill east of the Fires of Sunya lies the city of Talehatta, one of the great cities of the Lizardfolk of Araboatora. It is made up of wide, stone streets, large buildings and estates and seven great temple complexes.

The city of Talehatta is one of the best preserved settlements of the ancient lizard kingdoms. The old streets, and many of the old temples are still in use and well maintained.

After the Fall of Parretoa many people fled to Talehatta, in the hope that the king would be able to protect them and drive away the clouds. When he failed, they turned to the Lihan priestesses. Through rituals and sacrifices at the great temples, they ensured an abundance of valuable game in the surrounding jungles. This ensured the survival of the lizardfolk in Talhatta throughout the Long darkness. Through miracles such as these, they were given more and more power over the years. When eventually the clouds cleared, they were revered like goddesses and had become the ruling class of the lizardfolk societies.

But the Darkness had taken its toll, and the lizard folk were few in numbers. Many of the outer city was abandoned and lay in ruins. As the population started to grow again they restored many of the old buildings, but the ruin caused by the Fall of Parretoa can still be seen around the city.

The city is an important hub for the lizardfolk and has a famous library and university. Here the lizardfolk scholars and chroniclers from all over the Saropoda Wilds come to study the history of their people. The creat temple complexes are home to the Liha-Tora and her acolytes, who are trained to become spiritual leaders of the many lizardfolk settlements that have sprung up over the last thousand years.

Talehatta is also one of the few cities that has had contact with the Elmaran human from the north. While the Liha-Tora are sceptical and suspicious, they have entertained visits from their ambassadors and merchants. However, the jungle provides for the lizardfolk, and their is little that the human have to offer that is of interest for them.
