“Gohan, show me your maximum power,” Goku instructed his counterpart son from another timeline.

“Sure.”

Gohan clenched both of his fists, and his black eyes turned cyan. A golden aura surged, and with a sharp roar, he transformed into a Super Saiyan and continued to power up.

“That's some serious power for a simple Super Saiyan.” Goku hummed with crossed arms. This is not bad. Gohan could whip Frieza on Namek easily, and some beings beyond that level. But it doesn’t change the fact that he is not strong enough.

Super Saiyan is not enough if he wants to face true powerhouses.

“We used Dragon Balls to unleash our potential,” Bardock explained to Goku.

“Quite the waste of the wish, I have created magical stairs that can pull out potential.” 

The Rogue Saiyan looked at his son. “That's quite a creation, how does it work?”

“Train and meditate for a while, then go to these stairs and try to reach the peak.” Goku looked at Bardock as he explained.

“Rinse and repeat. There is no theoretical limit to them.” 

“...Impressive. You have created a perfect place to train. All we lack is enemies to fight.”

“I took care of that.” Aeos chipped in from the side.

“If you want to fight Frieza, you can fight him there.”

The Goddess used the ‘trigger’ word as Bardock grinned from ear to ear. “I can fight Frieza here?”

“As many times as you want.” The Blue-Haired Goddess smiled while saying that.

“I like this more by the minute.” A sadistic grin appeared on the older Saiyan. “Show me where this place is.”

“Alright.”

The Goddess decided to show him, as Goku was busy with Gohan.

As Frieza was minding his business, a man’s voice spread through the whole area.

“FRIEEEEZAAAA!!!!” Super Saiyan Bardock lunged at the Evil Emperor.

“What's that noise?” The Frost Demon turned around and saw a fist slam into his face, sending him flying into the hills in the distance.

“This is perfect! Absolutely amazing! I can kill you as many times as I want!” The older Saiyan could barely contain himself. This was a perfect location for him!

Meanwhile, Goku looked at Gohan, who revealed his true power.

“Have you even wondered about the next stage? An instinctual feeling about the next plateau of power?” The blonde Saiyan asked.

“...”

“I never had time to think…” 

“I see. It makes sense then.” The Saiyan realised what was wrong with his counterpart's son.

“...” Gohan dismissed his transformation and looked at Goku.

“Ki is not just energy used for destruction; it responds to your emotions and mental state. You are limiting yourself subconsciously.” 

The black clad Gohan looked surprised to hear that. “Is that even possible?” 

“Now that you mentioned.” The Nameless Namekian was there as well. Noticed that as well.

“Your Father is right. Ki is more than just energy.” Piccolo’s counterpart looked at Goku.” I assume you concluded that Gohan has lost himself?” 

“He has.” Goku nodded before looking back at Gohan.” You tried too hard to be someone you are not.”

Gohan’s eyes widened as he had a look of realisation.

“H-How do I change that?” Something inside the black clad Future Warrior snapped like an old coil began to uncoil.

“Come. We are going to meditate on it. You need to reflect on yourself.”

Nameless Namekian snorted internally. This was not what he expected from Goku. The one he knew is nothing like this one. But now he finally saw how Goku would look and how strong he would be if he were a proper martial artist and not just a Saiyan who likes to fight.

“Alright!”

The trio walked away to another part of the white realm, leaving behind Vidro, whose eyes sparkled. She will find Yamcha now!

The girl sneaked out from the training realm. Not long after she left, Aeos returned.

“Hmm? Where is Vidro?” The Goddess looked confused. She can’t sense her in the training realm. Does it mean she left it?

“Oh…”

The Blue-Haired Goddess realised where Vidro went. She went to find Yamcha.

“Interesting. Let’s see how well she does with competition.” With a curious look, Aeos turned around and went out into the outside world. She wanted to see how that Mortal Woman did with competition.

Gohan’s consciousness was submerged, and it took him a while to calm down, as he had long lived on edge.

By this point, it was like fighting against his nature. But after a while, he was able to stop and just relax. A soothing feeling washed over him, and he was able to perceive his Ki in a different way.

His energy was a chaotic mess, something he began to fix.

“Gohan’s power began to increase.” Nameless Namekian immediately noticed a change in the half-Saiyan’s Ki!

“He has recovered some of the balance in his Ki. It will take a while for him to fully recover. But, he is on the right path.” Goku commented with crossed arms.

“I never thought Saiyan could have such a profound understanding of Ki.” Piccolo’s counterpart replied with an amused look.

“We are full of surprises.” The Saiyan chuckled as they continued to watch Gohan recover.

Midway, the pair realised that it would take a while, so Goku went to his training. So did Piccolo’s counterpart, the Nameless Namekian, who decided to train as well.

Gohan’s black eyes snapped open as they turned cyan. With a powerful roar, the half Saiyan turned into Super Saiyan before tapping deeper and turning into Ascended Saiyan!

The future warrior’s eyes trembled as he looked at his hands. He could feel a huge surge of energy flowing through him.

‘So it was like this!’ 

He clenched his hands. With power like this, we could have achieved so much!

After calming down, he stood up and looked for his father. 

He was in white mist meditating.

With a serious look, Gohan walked there.

“Father, I want to fight you.”

“Just because you achieved Super Saiyan Two won’t change the past.” Goku already knew what Gohan was thinking.

“I know. But I need to get this out of my system.” The half Saiyan clenched his fist. Such a response was what Goku needed to hear.

“I see. So you're already at that point. Very well.” 

With that said, he landed on the ground and got serious. Gohan felt that chill pass through his whole body. He could see energy radiating from him just by looking into his eyes. He was feeling week in his legs!

‘This is father’s power when he is serious.’ Gohan never fought his father or trained with him. He died before he could do any of that!

“Are you ready? Attack me with everything you got, and I mean everything.” 

Goku motioned with his hand to come at him.

“Very well!” 

Gohan’s aura ignited as he roared and powered to maximum before dashing at Goku. The blonde Saiyan simply looked at him as Gohan’s fist stopped inches away from Goku’s face.

“I-Invisible force field? No… you…” Gohan realised that his fist couldn’t even get close!

Goku’s eyes glowed as he sent Gohan flying with just intent alone.

“Your Ki responds to your intentions. Don’t falter. Otherwise, I will crush you.” 

The black clad warrior rolled several times before flipping and landing on his feet.

‘He is seriously powerful! Damn!’ Gohan looked at Goku, who was slowly walking towards him. He could sense an overwhelming aura rolling from him. Goku didn’t need to unleash his energy to make Gohan sense his power.

“Enough gawking, focus, Gohan!” 

The half Saiyan gnashed his teeth as he roared and dashed at Goku. 

This time, he was stronger, and the blonde Saiyan used his hand to catch an incoming punch.

It was progress as Goku began to counter by flicking him away before moving.

Gohan felt that he was sent flying away for many miles. 

‘Damn, what is with his power? It's like a bottomless well!’ The Half Saiyan noticed that Goku’s Ki was strange. It was not just energy but something else mixed with it. Whatever it was, it made his moves more potent.

“Fight. Not think.” Goku said from the side. Gohan tried to block, but a drop kick sent him flying into the ground.

The smack into white ground was absurd as the black clad warrior coughed up blood upon collision.

“You are thinking too much. This is a fight. Listen to your instincts. Your Saiyan blood knows better than your head.”

Goku landed on the ground.

“You need to refine your instincts in the training field and then use them in a fight to test them. Instead, you are thinking about pointless things.”

“Thinking won’t win fights for you.” 

Gohan trembled as he tried to stand up. That single kick made him feel his father’s true power. He never sensed anything like that.

It was a bottomless ocean—something he didn’t sense before. He fought his father’s counterpart before, but it was different. It was like comparing the ocean to a forest fire.

“Haaahh—Haaah—Haaah.” The half-Saiyan needed to compose before standing straight. 

“I think…you are a bit too strong for me.” 

“Then, in the next attack, use all of your energy. You still need to get your feelings out of your system.” Goku motioned for him to come at him.

“...Good point.” Gohan took a Kamehameha stance as he began to gather energy.

A Kamehameha from Super Saiyan Two is enough to blow up the entire Solar System.

But Goku simply stared at Gohan, who was charging the beam to max.

“Ka-me-ha-” Gohan got extremely serious as energy began to gather in his hands. He was pouring everything into this attack, including all the good and bad emotions.

Goku simply looked, crossing his arms as he waited for him to finish.

“-Me-Ha-me-HAAAAA!!!!” The beam erupted from Gohan’s hands and rushed towards the blonde Saiyan, who simply moved his hand to catch the beam.

Moments later, the beam slammed into his hand. Goku got a bit serious, clenching the wave and sending a sharp shockwave of energy that destabilised the whole beam, causing it to explode.

Gohan, who was controlling the wave, realised something had happened as the whole beam shattered and exploded randomly!

“What was that?” He was confused. This was the first time his attack had been shattered like that! He saw deflection, a counter, and even absorption, but this was the systematic destruction of his beam!

“One can counter a Ki Beam with another Beam or simply send a Ki shockwave to destabilise the beam’s structure.” Goku replied as the smoke cleared, and he was fine. His blue gi was pristine; there was not a single scratch on him!

“T-That’s… isn’t it difficult to do?” Gohan was certain that a Ki Beam of the same power would be easier to counter.

“Depends.” Goku lowered his hand as he saw how his son’s counterpart lost his transformation and simply stared at the blonde Saiyan in disbelief.

“Now that you have this out of your system, we can begin with proper training," He explained to the dumbfounded half-Saiyan. 

“...Umm… I am out of Ki…”

“You don’t need Ki; this is foundational training. Everything about you is wrong. Your Saiyan transformation is achieved through anger. It destabilised your Ki, so you need to go through more meditation sessions to achieve true Super Saiyan as a state and not as a transformation.” 

Each time Goku mentioned a fault, Gohan twitched. It was like a stab to him.

“Then we need to improve your martial arts and teach you how to transform into Oozaru properly.”

“Umm… why do I need that giant monkey form?” The half-saiyan asked. 

“Do achieve Super Saiyan Four and Five.” 

“F-Five?” The black clad warrior exclaimed in disbelief.

“Hn.” Goku’s hair spiked as a white glow consumed him, and the next moment, he was in his Super Saiyan Five state: Long White hair, white fur, and yellow eyes.

“This is the apex of what a Mortal Saiyan can achieve, Gohan. This is the power of a Mortal crossing over into the realms of the Gods.” 

Gohan simply stared at this transformation. Now it made sense why even Aeons lost to him. This power he can’t make sense of. It felt infinite!
