‘Is it just me, or are there more people looking at me?’

Raynor very quickly noticed that he was getting everyone’s attention, almost like he was a celebrity on the red carpet.

‘What do you expect? You wanted my power. Now you have it.’ Lord of Dragons spoke in his mind.

‘You inherited my authority and dimension, while your soul is still adjusting to the weight of it, it already is bearing its fangs.’

‘To a regular human, you are like a god. While they don’t understand why, they will look at you; it's like a mountain in a grassland - they will notice you.

So forget about being invisible.’ 

The Lord of Dragons ranted, making Raynor grimace. No wonder he had this feeling that he would bite more than he could chew.

With that duel… BUT! His deck became infinitely better! Now he needs to visit the spellcaster's place and get more spells, traps and maybe one or two spellcasters…

As he was dreaming about more Mirror Force cards and the Magical Cylinder. 

Alexis was looking at him, and so was Chazz, as the guy wanted to duel him for some reason! Just looking at this Slifer slacker makes him annoyed!

Then there is Jaden, who is almost jumping up and down at the idea of duelling him!

The moment the bell rang, the blonde girl stood up and walked to him.

“So, I want to duel you.” She declared, without regard for the fact that it was in front of everyone. People gawked at this!

Obelisk Blue is challenging Slifer Red!

“C’mon, Alexis! I wanted to duel him first!” Jaden complained as he walked over.

“You can do it AFTER my duel!” She replied without removing her gaze from Raynor.

“Sure, then let’s get a place to fight.” He stood up, the new Ruler of dragon kin was feeling much better now… and powerful, though he still doesn’t know how to channel that excess power.

‘Thankfully, I fixed my deck before coming here.’

With that said, Raynor and Alexis left, and others followed them…

Literally, the whole class did! 

‘It would seem we are making waves.’ 

As he is thinking that, he can tell that his army of dragons is getting excited.

The duo ended just outside the academy.

“If I win, you will teach me your tricks, I want to learn them!” She declared after placing her deck into her blue duel disk.

“Oh? So we have a duel with a bet? I have experience with those.” Raynor grinned as his eyes glowed for a second. Alexis saw them, and she was a bit nervous.

She realised that something had happened to him over the last night.

“Indeed, I want you to teach me about Duel Spirits and all their secrets!” Alexis said with a dead serious tone.

“Hmm, in that case, if I win, you will be my girlfriend. Sounds reasonable enough.” He said with a grin, expecting her to decline.

“...”

“...”

“...”

“Slifer slacker, what are you asking!!!” Chazz looked like he would kill Raynor.

But Raynor didn’t want to easily teach Alexis over a simple duel.

That is why he asked that.

However, he didn’t take into consideration his new powerful presence.

After all, his heavy presence is making her consider all her options carefully; to her, it was a literal crossroads in life.

“Fine. I agree!” The girl smiled.

But Alexis realised one thing: if she wins, he will teach her; if she loses, he will teach her either way. Simple as that!

After all, boyfriends do tend to do that!

“Y-You do!?” Her friends and the rest looked surprised, as rarely does anyone do this! Even then, Alexis ruthlessly declined such a thing!

She doesn’t want any romance or that stuff! But now… Alexis agreed! Even smiled!

‘Who is this Slifer Slacker!? How dare he!?’ Chazz was uncontrollably shaking with anger.

“Let’s duel then! Show me your Duel Spirit powers!” The girl activated her duel disk and drew her five cards.

As she did that, everyone was wondering what she was talking about.

“Fine.” Raynor took his five cards.

“Ladies go first. I draw!” Alexis pulled the sixth card and checked it.

“I start with Etoile Cyber in Attack Position.” The girl summoned her monster to the field; it was a skater girl with long orange hair.

“Then I set a card and end my turn.” 

“My turn. I draw.” Raynor checked his card.

“Hmm…what to do, what to do…” For a second, he pondered.

His hand was full of dragons…

“Ah, let’s go with this.” He decided on his move.

“First, I summon White Dragon Chick in attack position.” 

A small and cute white dragon appeared on the field.

“...what is this card?” She asked, and the girl was certain she had never seen this kind of monster before! And she has studied Duel Monsters her whole life!

“Last night, I beat a Lord of Dragons who had a full deck of dragons. As you can imagine, in the Spirit Realm, everything is for keeps…

That includes monsters!” Raynor explained before showing another card.

Alexis' eyes widened in horror as she knew this card! EVERYONE knows this card! It’s on book covers, posters, statues, this card is everywhere! Except in people's decks!

“Since I have successfully summoned White Dragon Chick, I can activate its special ability.

By sending my dragon to the graveyard, I can summon… My Blue Eyes White Dragon!”

The Slifer Red student lifted his hand, and Blue Eyes Dragon appeared behind him.

When people saw the monster, they were speechless.

How couldn’t they!? This is a legendary monster! Insanely rare! Officially, there are only three copies of this card!

Yet… here it is!

“...H-How…” Alexis took a step back, this monster… she is feeling goosebumps and a bit of fear… as she can tell this was not a hologram!

“In the Spirit Realm, dragons are not simple monsters, you do realise that.” He explained before motioning.

“Blue-Eyes attack her skater girl.” He motioned for his white dragon to attack.

With a roar, the white dragon released a burst of white lightning, which slammed into her monster, shattering into glass-like pieces.

The girl needed to cover her face with her hand as the dust was real!

‘Is this the power from someone who can wield duel spirits?’ The blonde wondered as the longer this was going on, the more she was interested in this power.

After the attack, Raynor checked his hand… his lips twitched… his whole hand were dragons… no Valkyrie… no spells or trap cards.

He can tell his pets want to fight, so they come to the front of his deck.

“I end my turn.” With a sigh, he ended his turn. It was not bad; he made Alexis lose 1800 lifepoints in a single attack.

The next turn, he will be summoning more dragons.

“Then I draw!” The girl checked her card before looking at the dragon standing behind Raynor.

‘I don’t have anything that could go head to head against this beast. I need to use my fusion weapon to beat this dragon.’

The blonde Obelisk Blue’s hand is pretty much useless when it comes to something like this; she needs to use a card that she wanted to save for later! But…

“Fine then! I use Monster Reborn!”

The girl activated her spell card.

“I bring back my Etoile Cyber in attack position!” With a hand motion, her monster returned to her.

“Next! I use polymerisation to fuse my Etoile Cyber with Blade Skater!”

Two skaters merged into one to create an even more powerful one.

“To create Cyber Blader!” 

A futuristic girl with a visor and long blue hair appeared on her side on the field.

While she had only 2100 attack points and 800 defence points, she wasn’t much, but…

“You are gambling on her second ability.” Raynor quickly realised what the girl was cooking.

“You will see! Next, I equip my Cyber Blader with Fusion Weapon!”

All of a sudden, Cyber Blader's power went up to 3600 points.

“Impressive.” Raynor realised that she had different plans.

“Cyber Blader attack his Blue-Eyes White Dragon!”

The dragon tried to counter, but the Skater’s hand turned into a weapon that blasted Raynor’s dragon and his lifepoints by 600 points.

“I end my turn.” Alexis sighed in relief internally. She was able to pass this hurdle, but now she was waiting for the next one!

“Not bad. Pity that my other two are somewhere buried in the deck.” Raynor commented as he looked at his cards.

This was bad; his hand is full of monsters that can’t help him. He might have his Lord of Dragons, but he can summon an army of dragons, and they are useless against 3600 attack points.

“My turn, I draw!” He pulled a card, and his eyes lit up.

“I activate my pot of greed.”

The Slifer pulled two more cards. 

It was De-Spell and Polymerisation!

“Nice. First, your equip card has to go, I use De-Spell.” 

Raynor used his De-Spell, which shattered Alexis' Fusion Weapon.

The blonde girl grimaced as she realised that she was in trouble once more.

“Next, I summon him.” Raynor showed her his card.” I will show what I had to experienced last night.” 

“I summon Lord of Dragons in Attack Position.”

A dragon armour-wearing man appeared sitting on a white throne.

“That’s… Lord of D….” Alexis knew this card was super rare, but something was off about it. The artwork is different, and the hologram itself is different.

“Since he was successfully summoned, one of his two abilities is activated.”

“Two abilities?” She was certain he had one! But then she realised that cards with the Duel Spirits are different!

‘This is not good! How am I supposed to counter when I have no idea what kind of abilities they have?’ Alexis frowned as she waited to see the end of this combo!

“That’s right!” He showed his duel disk as one card got singled out.

“I can get Flute of Dragon Summoning from my deck.”

Her eyes widened as she realised what was coming next!

“Now, Lord of Dragons, use your flute to summon dragons!” Raynor inserted the spell card, and the Dragon Lord began to play the flute.

“Come forth! Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Seiyaryu!” Two cards in Raynor’s hand glowed, and two dragons manifested on the field.

One was the famous black dragon, but the other one looked like it was carved from a gem.

Alexis frowned heavily when she saw three monsters on the field.

If only it were two…

But three? She can still interrupt!

“Next, I use my polymerisation—”

“Sorry, but no. I activate Cyber Blader’s effect, I negate your polymerisation.” 

Raynor deadpanned when he saw his card burst.

“Seriously… Alexis?” He sighed.

“Fine. Red-Eyes blow up her Cyber Blader.” He ordered the attack.

A blast of black flames blew up her fusion monster. Since Alexis’ monster’s effect depends on the number of monsters on the field, she lost her invulnerability.

“Ugh!” The girl covered her face from the dust as her life points went down by 300.

“Now Seiyaryu finished her off.” The dragon made from a large gem rushed forward and blasted the girl with its flames.

Alexis' eyes widened as she felt heat; it wasn’t that she got burned, but she experienced a small amount of what could happen to her.

Just like that, her lifepoints went down to zero.

Sigh

“My deck wasn’t built to fight someone who can spawn dragons on the field.” The girl complained as she realised that she had lost.

“You didn’t allow me to finish. I could have summoned King Dragun and spawned my last dragon.” He complained as he walked over. He showed his last two cards.

It was Divine Dragon Ragnarok and Tyrant Dragon.

“Right…” Alexis rolled her eyes, but then… she realised what had happened!

She is supposed to become his girlfriend now!

“A-About the bet…” She got flustered.

Raynor smirked for a second.

“What? You are going to chicken out?” He asked with a curious look.

“N-No… it’s… that…”

“Nooo!” 

That moment, others realised that the duel was over, and that Alexis, one of the best duellists of Obelisk Blue, had lost!

“Our Queen has been taken!” Some guy in the background began to cry as they were devastated. 

“These guys…” Alexis looked at them as if they were idiots.

“Lexy, what the hell!” Her friends rushed over, then looked at Raynor from top to bottom. 

They tried to come up with something, but their words would stick at the edge of their tongues.

In just a couple of moments, they realised… that he was… good.

“Enough! I want to speak with him alone, now get going!” The blonde motioned for the rest of them to get away.

“No way! I wanna duel him now!” Jaden didn’t care; he wanted to duel! Especially after seeing Blue-Eyes White Dragon in action!
