the whole true alpha as a trump card is so annoying and we feel like they're gonna try and make Derek Scotts beta and we would HATE THAT. And ok that makes sense we guess but we just feel like nothing they do will ever make Derek want to kill his betas he's not that type

2025-08-05 20:52:02 +0000 UTCNot being able to find something for the betas to do was absolutely an excuse, you're right, because there's no way they couldn't have found things for Boyd right alongside all the others. It was shock value and it was wanting to hurt Derek, but also I think it was meant to make Derek look like a failure, like a bad alpha, because it happens at the same time that Scott is "becoming" the "true alpha". I'm not the biggest fan of this episode but I do love how it was done. Having two manipulative liars tell the story of two separate events that unknowingly (except maybe to Peter) happened at the same time. Neither Gerard nor Peter can be trusted so the characters gain almost no real information while the audience gets to see the lies and the truth at the same time. Scott does definitely get points for not entirely trusting Gerard. He doesn't entirely DISTRUST him either, which is a little.. eh, but it's certainly not the worst choice he's made. And Stiles not trusting Peter!! He doesn't even need werewolf powers to know that Peter is not a reliable source!! Heartbeat WHOMST. I love getting to see Stiles react to even a modified version of Derek's story. Because Stiles cares. He can be a little shit, and he can be an asshole, but he cares and he does like Derek. And hearing the story of his eyes, and knowing that within a year after Paige's death Kate happens which leads to the fire, is just an insane series of events to piece together. Derek really could've become a villain and I can't imagine many people would blame him For the alpha pack it wasn't just one member, I'm pretty sure they killed their entire packs. Because when Kali had Derek impaled in the loft a few episodes ago so Deucalion could have a "chat" with him he said something about how Derek wouldn't need to choose to kill his pack - that he would kill one and the rest would be easy after that. I think that was part of their reasoning for making Derek kill Boyd (outside of general writers cruelty and racism) They thought if they got Derek started he wouldn't be so against killing the rest. But they don't know Derek. He's Derek Fucking Hale. Son of Talia Fucking Hale. Who taught him "we're predators, that doesn't mean we have to be killers". I see where y'all get Cora & Stiles from, and it wouldn't be the worst pairing to come out of this show. I think they make a great duo if you're looking for sarcastic besties who are really good at threats, especially creative ones - whether they follow up on them or not lol

I have cried with yall😭😂😂🩷 ps the reason why the alpha himself has to kill his betas is to get their powers added to the alpha or who killed him. Thats why the others did it as well. It makes you more powerful since the connection between and alpha and his betas is so strong. It can Also make you more animalistic just like how deculion became.
