Nice rendering, one possible issue with the design is that it seems to require SH to be in a certain rotation along it's vertical axis, otherwise you might not have all four gridfins making contact. I don't know if only two (possible worst case) would be enough to safely land it without damage. Perhaps a modification to make that scenario not a possibility?

However, the rendering doesn't depict the violent nature of a launch with 28 raptor engines at full thrust. The catch mechanism, along with all other facilities on the launch tower will all have to withstand the extreme thrust.

2021-01-15 23:08:59 +0000 UTCWith regard to the WAI catching mechanism, I think the cable system for lifting and lowering SS and SH seems risky if there's any wind at all. Atttaching from 3 or even four points should at least reduce yawing and pitching by the suspended SS and SH. Or maybe there's an even better way?
