1st week of professional authorhood

Authorhood sounds like a word, right?

So I managed another 20k this week after an enormous amount of trials and tribulations. I'm not sure if I can maintain that pace forever, but a consistent15k is certainly within the realm of possibility.

It's looking like Monday is a fluff day. Those are where you go over the last weeks work, wonder what the heck you were thinking and fluff out portions so they make sense to current you. Old you was a hack.

Tuesday is a full on expansion day, where I try to push 4k into the story to lengthen the narrative. Wednesday is more of the same, but less 3k or so because the creative juices have just about dried up at that point.

Thursday is a quick revision/expansion day where I go back and try to ensure everything is meeting my quality standard. Friday I try to make one last big push to get my wordcount up and Saturday is my makeup day if I can't get it done on Friday.

I'm writing in 2-3 hour clusters, with an hour or so gap between them where I do anything but write. After starting at the screen too long, you begin to get really drained creatively. By Friday my creative juices are pretty well spent.

My current objective, which of course I fail at consistently, is to have the first draft finished by the end of February. Don't get too excited. After that there is an editing process that will take several weeks to months.

So everything is going well, I'm on outline for book 7 so everything is coming up Shart.
