Map Set: School

I added a lot of maps into a new folder in my sketchbook on the Dropbox, but for the sake of explanation I'm going to post them to the feed here in sets! You can find all of the maps in the folder, but for now this is all of the old and current maps for their school (from the start of the comic).

Image 1: Updated final map. I labeled everything I'd planned to it or have drawn in the school. It may not be up to code, but fiction means fun with buildings even for an overplanner like me. :)

Image 2: Labeled map with locations from the comic itself. I tried to find as many places as I could label, but if you find any I didn't label I'll be happy to add it to the map later! Some places overlap, so I just put the first time or most interesting time we get to see the spot.

Image 3: Outdated map for the school. This was honestly outdated quickly, I overcrowded the space and was just trying to plan for the insides of buildings too much. As you can tell between the two maps, there was a lot of shifting of the lower part of the map. (I did keep the sunset/sunrise locations, though, which I did try to stick to for the lighting in the comic!)

Image 4: Milo's dorm room. I never made a map for Liam and Archie's room (or at least don't remember if I did and can't find it now), but Milo's took a little planning for a scene in Chapter 6 (starting chapter 6, page 30). I actually made this one for the 3rd extra comic I made (Shoes Off), which is funny to me because I never ended up doing anything with the room layout in that extra, but I did need it for 6 pages in the main comic. I think this is the only time we ever meet Milo's roommate, Nate (chapter 6, page 36).

Image 5: Outdated map for the school again, made at the same time as Milo's dorm room map. This was an overworked and odd design for the dorms as I was planning it out, but it does give a generalized idea of where Milo's room (G5) is in relation to Liam's (labeled as H5). I realized much later how ridiculous it was that Liam's room never had a window, but it went on too long without one and felt weird to add one in later. I would definitely change his and Archie's room a little bit now. Other interesting bit on this map: the other red-marked room would be Kat and Penny's room. I never figured out where everyone else roomed, and later decided the other half of the building to be another set of dorms for a different year (Kat and Penny would be shifted to the same side of the building as them because of this, since they're in the same year).

That's a good point, I never labeled the groundskeepers shed! I think I would want it to be part of the uniform shop/other, or maybe added in near the gym section to the top left? I'll have to think on that, but it's a great suggestion! The building on the map is kind of a weird one; the only page where it's visible is chapter 3 page 14— only a tiny corner of a two story building that I barely defined. I think at the time I intended it to be the other dorm for other school years, but it's so far from the rest of the campus that it feels off to me. In the final product I would remove it in favor of ending with a fenced area for the campus, but for now it exists only because of that page! :)

Awesome! Oh, the "Honestly IDK" building? Have you considered a groundskeeper shed (place for the riding lawnmower, the little thing to chalk the lines on sport fields, sprinklers, maintenance materials etc
