The largest ahu (platform) on Easter Island
Added 2019-06-30 09:07:02 +0000 UTCAhu Tongariki is the largest ahu on Easter Island. Its moai were toppled following European contact, and in the twentieth century the ahu was swept inland by a tsunami.
It has since been restored and has fifteen moai including an 86 tonne moai that was the heaviest ever erected on the island. All the moai here face sunset during Summer Solstice.

The skill in creating these ahu,s is still admirable. Even more so considering Easter Islanders had to develop there skills in almost complete isolation from the rest of the planet.
