Ancient petroglyphs showing evidence of animal life in the green Sahara
Added 2019-08-29 10:42:37 +0000 UTCThe Dobous Giraffes are the world's largest animal petroglyphs. These life-size depiction of the world's tallest animal were carved into rocks, in what is now the Saharan Desert, sometime between 7,000 - 11,000 years ago, when the Sahara was a greener place.

2019-08-29 12:46:03 +0000 UTCFascinating! I've been lucky enough to see petroglyphs in real life in Arizona although they were much smaller and very different in design. The effort and hours needed to peck out these complex images is truly impressive and they must have been very meaningful for the people who made them if they invested so much making them.
