Survey: What should the next bonus playthrough be?
Added 2022-12-01 16:38:54 +0000 UTCHello again! It's time for you to help us come up with candidates for our next bonus playthrough!
If you aren't sure about the viability of a particular game and want to ask me about it, feel free to do so in the comments below. Once you've all had some time to submit your bonus playthrough game suggestion, I'll pick a handful from the list and put together a vote.
I'm very excited to see what y'all suggest!

If we already filled out the Google Form but want to change our nomination, is there any way to go about doing that? (Also, just to refresh my memory - Hades was a bonus playthrough way back in the day, right?)

2022-12-03 13:36:01 +0000 UTCTrue, at least without the original disks. Which is about…$130 dollars. Never mind.

2022-12-02 23:35:20 +0000 UTCAdios wouldn't have been a good fit for a bonus playthrough, but I sure wanted to suggest it anyway.

2022-12-02 23:28:17 +0000 UTCIf your still taking suggestions Final Fantasy 9, To the Moon, and Evoland 1 and 2. I really would love to see your thoughts on any of these games.
John Maxwell
2022-12-02 22:58:28 +0000 UTCI think Pentiment would be a lot of fun to see on Playframe! I feel like it lends itself more to a Carrie+Dan co-op than solo, I can see a lot of debating choices to make in the game 😆
Sierra Lomo
2022-12-02 19:56:18 +0000 UTCI really like games where the playtron names can be showcased, so I've thrown Pokemon Violet/Scarlet into the ring. Personally, I think it makes the playthroughs even more enjoyable when we're "part" of it
Aylin Metzner
2022-12-02 10:27:40 +0000 UTCI made three suggestions, just in case one or two of them had already been suggested: Boyfriend dungeon, Orwell and Finding Paradise (sequel to To the Moon)

2022-12-02 09:21:10 +0000 UTCOr just Bastion
Bryan
2022-12-02 06:55:51 +0000 UTCMaybe a comparison video - transistor vs bastion vs hades

2022-12-02 06:55:40 +0000 UTCThe next playthrough is a bit up in the air depending on how close we are to christmas when Tunic wraps. God of War Ragnarok is definitely a game being considered for the channel in 2023, but definitely isn't planned in the immediate future (unless it gets voted for here, of course)
PlayFrame
2022-12-02 01:44:29 +0000 UTCBugsnax! It recently got a free DLC!
Jacob Grayson
2022-12-02 01:40:07 +0000 UTCContinuations are totally allowed!
PlayFrame
2022-12-02 01:39:31 +0000 UTCIf continuations of one shots are allowed, I'd love to see you play through the rest of Death's Door. Your one off for it made me buy the game immediately and it's a delight all throughout, with excellent comedic animation and very similar world vibes to Tunic.
Chris Arce
2022-12-01 23:32:42 +0000 UTCI'd like to suggest 'unpacking'! it's one of my favourite games to replay and fairly short, with beautiful pixel art and wonderful environmental storytelling :D
awkwardsauce
2022-12-01 23:26:43 +0000 UTCWhat is the next main playthough? Tunic is not a very long game I believe. If God of War ragnarok is next I need to change my submission. If you don’t want to spoil it I definitely understand
Preston Poirier
2022-12-01 22:04:01 +0000 UTCI dunno if Journeyman Project III: Legacy of Time is actually a viable suggestion… but if it is I’d *love* to see it. Also Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters (this game is probably too long). Or Iconoclasts. I feel like I need to hold a poll to decide what game to submit to the poll 😛 Edit: I ended up submitting Iconoclasts; as much as I adore Ur-Quan Masters, I’m not really sure the structure of the game would make for a satisfying bonus game play-through, because if you’re going in blind, you’re very unlikely to reach a satisfying ending on your first playthrough, but the game is quite long.

2022-12-01 21:57:13 +0000 UTCHonestly, I had a few ideas, but folks here have better ones that I'd sooner vote for than mine, heh.

2022-12-01 21:51:07 +0000 UTCHorizon Zero Dawn was one of my favorite lets plays from the channel, I keep hoping Forbidden West makes the cut to show up.

2022-12-01 21:37:12 +0000 UTCThe Forgotten City -- I feel would be right up your alley. One of those "go in as blind as possible" games. You liked outer wilds right? This is another time loop game that very heavily relies on knowledge and experimentation. Though set in ancient Rome rather than outer space. It's also not terribly long of a game. "The Forgotten City is a narrative-driven time loop adventure in ancient Rome. Discover the ruins of an ancient underground city, travel 2000 years into the past, and unravel the mystery of who destroyed it by cleverly exploiting the power to wind back time. The fate of the city is in your hands."

2022-12-01 21:29:19 +0000 UTCI would also love to see NTWEWY too!

2022-12-01 21:11:22 +0000 UTCI keep hoping that we'll get a Pyre playthrough to finish off the Supergiant catalog
Nazrax
2022-12-01 21:00:47 +0000 UTCI'm going to continue championing NEO The World Ends With You. Your playthrough of the first game is what got me invested in the second and the characters are JUST as good this time around, too.

2022-12-01 20:58:13 +0000 UTCI'd really like to see the classic game Beyond Good and Evil played here. It fits very well with the PlayFrame style.
Steve Jakab
2022-12-01 20:51:02 +0000 UTCThe Witness! Co-op if possible. Followed up by The Looker of course. XD
Elle Adeline
2022-12-01 20:50:56 +0000 UTCThomas Was Alone is a beautiful little narrative platformer, old by now but close to my heart. Moss got more content (sequel rather), so it'd be lovely to have Carrie back to guide our Quillo around! Unpacking is a lovely, cute, and absolutely beautiful little game, that could also work as a co-op thing where you get together with Carrie for cozy unpacking and organising, learning more about the main character as you unpack her boxes as she moves into different rooms and houses throughout her life.
Han
2022-12-01 20:49:56 +0000 UTCIs that even possible? From the recent noclip documentary, it's basically impossible to play B&W on modern systems.
Steve Jakab
2022-12-01 20:48:57 +0000 UTCThis is a good suggestion!

2022-12-01 20:31:30 +0000 UTCThank you so much for letting me know about this!

2022-12-01 20:00:20 +0000 UTCI'm gonna second this recommendation! Game is incredible.

2022-12-01 19:30:54 +0000 UTCJust gonna keep suggesting Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling. A fairly short but oh so wonderful Paper Mario inspired RPG that is pretty much Paper Mario meets Hollow Knight. It's whole tone and vibe is so utterly perfect for Playframe.
Seraphem
2022-12-01 18:57:51 +0000 UTCBlack and White by Lionhead studios. One of the first (and most literal) god-games out there where you act as a god helping your followers and dealing with other deities.

2022-12-01 18:53:33 +0000 UTCGhost Trick is indeed both hilarious and rad!
Dekker
2022-12-01 18:24:20 +0000 UTCGonna give you two options then. ^^
Falka Riannon
2022-12-01 17:45:11 +0000 UTC3DS is trickier, but possible!
PlayFrame
2022-12-01 17:35:57 +0000 UTCI like to champion Ghost Trick every now and again, but how viable is that with the passage of time? Is it too hard to record being 3/DS-only? (Or are we waiting to see what comes of that potential PC port leak?)
whiskeyii
2022-12-01 17:34:42 +0000 UTCWe limit it to a single suggestions per patron just to keep things from getting out of hand. Sometimes folks post multiple game titles in their suggestion, in which case I either go with the first one listed or my favorite of the bunch. So I guess multiple suggestions KINDA works in that sense? Only one suggestion is getting added to the tally of votes, but you're giving me options for which game to add to the tally. :P

2022-12-01 17:19:55 +0000 UTCA three-person playthrough of an effectively endless game maaaay be a tough sell.... XD
PlayFrame
2022-12-01 17:16:10 +0000 UTCCo-op suggestions are allowed!
PlayFrame
2022-12-01 17:15:12 +0000 UTCSure, a randomizer run is a viable option!
PlayFrame
2022-12-01 17:14:49 +0000 UTCCo-op suggestions are ok! Single player games are more LIKELY to make the cut since they are easier to record and edit as a bonus thing, but that didn't stop us from doing Obra Dinn as a bonus. :)
PlayFrame
2022-12-01 17:14:24 +0000 UTCSeconding Inscryption, but also I'm gonna check the rest of these out!

2022-12-01 17:08:21 +0000 UTCAre multiple suggestions ok? If so how should we denote them?
Falka Riannon
2022-12-01 17:07:41 +0000 UTCWhat about a Sea of Thieves story mode with Dan, Dan, and Carrie?
Quinn
2022-12-01 17:05:28 +0000 UTCCase of the Golden Idol: The only other Obra Dinn-em-up mystery solving game in the same weight class as the original. Short runtime, super interesting, lots of debate over who to accuse for what - requires lots of discussion - perfect Carrie material. Pentiment: Gorgeous illuminated manuscript mystery. Phenomenal art, great story. Only downside is lots of text (comparable to Night in the Woods) requiring reading, but fascinating choices matter structure and unequaled 'worldbuilding' if you consider history worldbuilding. The Red Strings Club: Choices matter cyberpunk bartending game with a short runtime with strong story and emphasis on thinking beyond the effects of your immediate decisions. Omori: It's a cute and fluffy ~20hr Undertale-like / Earthbound style JRPG except when its digressing into dark super real topics and themes. Thematically in the same vein as something like Stand By Me - it's about the kid experience and both the light/darkness that comes with that. Iconoclasts: If it's time for annother Metroidvania, make it a good one with strong characters and interesting worldbuilding and bosses. Inscryption: Roguelite Repitition is the only thing that would hold back this Daniel Mullins classic from lighting the viewership on fire.

2022-12-01 17:03:27 +0000 UTCI would absolutely love to see another Dan + Carrie puzzle adventure, if you're up for some more sleuthing! The Witness would be my pick. If co-op isn't really on the table, I've been excited for your inevitable journey through Pyre.
Jalorn
2022-12-01 17:03:04 +0000 UTCI'm going to keep suggesting Luna Nights just because it's the only touhou game you might consider (even though it's a fangame) but its a metroidvania wit all the good touhou tunes!
Ciary
2022-12-01 16:54:18 +0000 UTCI'm suggesting Dandara, because it's a beautiful Metroidvania with pretty interesting controls...and it sort of literally has Dan's name on it. :)

2022-12-01 16:47:22 +0000 UTCCan we request the randomizer for Hollow Knight now? I can’t catch every stream but I want to watch the play through
Preston Poirier
2022-12-01 16:45:24 +0000 UTCAre coop playthroughs with Carrie an option, or should we submit single player suggestions only?
Adam Spina
2022-12-01 16:43:23 +0000 UTCI'm very excited to see what ends up in the poll for selection, since this is the first bonus playthrough since I subscribed on Patreon! I'll be looking forward to it, whatever we wind up picking.
