WHOA we unlocked another bonus playthrough!
In a delicious twist, this surprise Brütal Legend playthrough has led to an influx of new patrons (welcome!), causing us to cross the 1,400 patron threshold and unlocking yet another bonus playthrough.
The playthroughs have begun self-replicating. Scientists will be studying this phenomenon for decades to come.
Granted, trying to simultaneously juggle a Brütal Legend playthrough and a bonus playthrough while also advance-recording Shadowbringers episodes AND keeping up our regular daily output is a little too much even for me to dare attempting (and that's saying something), so we'll probably let this Brütal Legend series wrap up before getting the next bonus playthrough started. But we can start the process of figuring out what that next bonus game will be!
If you're a patron at $2 level or higher, I'll be getting in touch soon inviting you to submit a game suggestion! Then, once I've got the final candidates picked, everyone will get to vote on which of them becomes the next bonus playthrough.

2025-03-19 18:25:16 +0000 UTCIndeed, glad Dan mentioned it early enough. 24:30 - 24:55. Tim Schafer had a desire to create an RTS game around Heavy Metal bands fighting over crowds on stage battles. However that alone wasn't getting investors interested, so to get backing he crafted up the rest of the game, the open world, the racing, all the fun stuff. As Dan mentioend "it didn't do it any favors" is a bit of an understatment and after a while some folk felt it was a kind of a rug pull. Tim learned his lesson and should have been more up front about what the game would actually be about. The Narrator of the Legend backstory lore tid bits is Corey Burton, who has done various roles for Disney including Professor Ludwig von Drake and Dale. He also does Cad Bane in Star Wars properties and Yen Sid for Kingdom Hearts. "Mittens" was voiced by David Sobolov, who has various video game credentials under his belt such as Gorilla Grodd and Drax.

2025-03-19 17:46:53 +0000 UTCIt does seem like Pyre and Windwaker were neck and neck, so it'd probably be appreciated to use one for the next playthrough and one for the bonus. But, I don't want to take the joy away from the new patrons of submitting and voting. =)
