One day, he arrived too early and caught one of Academik’s men going over a financial report. The man was throwing out a bunch of numbers quickly, trying to confuse Academikk. Eventually, Academik just got tired and agreed with the final income number the guy presented.
But as Valery listened, he noticed a miscalculation—one that wasn’t accidental. The man had been skimming money from Academik, stealing a significant amount by relying on the trust placed in him.
Thanks to this, Valery exposed a traitor in Academik’s ranks and proved that his intelligence could make him valuable.
