Hi Clint! I’m sort of confused about boas. Do the different localities of boa imperator range in size and temperament? In the Facebook group “Ball Python People” , which I recommend to anyone who’s thinking about a ball python, a few people told me that a baby boa imperator would be a good first snake, rather than a ball due to the care and feeding aspects. Is this a good idea and, if so, is one locality better than another?

Particularly in relation to nocturnal species. For example using a deep heat projector or ceramic from above during daylight hours over a basking spot that uses a large stone as a base. These sources switch off at night and the stone base will gradual give out absorbed heat over the course of the night akin to in the wild.
