Clint's Reptiles

Hi Clint! I was wondering what you think the most important things to remember/be attentive to when shipping/purchasing a reptile online? When we had our live chat you recommended rubber boas, but they're hard to track down! I have someone willing to ship some babies, but I promised I'd try to find some info for him because he's never shipped a reptile before :) Also, should I stick with Ash M, Meezer42, or Trufflepig42 which is my discord name?? Feel free to answer in the chat πŸ˜…

Hello. I have noticed that all of the Crotalus viridis I have encountered in southern Utah have been very reluctant to rattle, even when disturbed or making other threat displays. Do you know if this is a trait of the species as a whole, or just that population, and why this might be the case?

It's become popular to add enrichment to reptile enclosures. When looking for artificial plants, is the texture important? So many fake leaves and flowers have a feel of fabric, and may be more absorbent than just plastic.

Hi Clint! Hope you and the family are keeping well! Slightly strange question but is was your electrical outlet situation when you have racks or multiple vivarium in the same room? How do you prevent it from turning into a fire hazard if you're using extension cords etc? As always keep doing what you're doing!

Hi there my friend! Why has the Santa Catalina Rattlesnake evolved to the point where it no longer has a rattle? Does it have to do with insular isolation and lack or predators or is it something else? They’re stinking rad snakes!

Hi Clint! When it comes to handling snakes or taming new ones, what differences are there between a terrestrial and a semi arboreal or fully arboreal snake?

Hi Clint, Going to have to miss the livestream this week for the first time since week eight! I'll be watching it back though. In light of that, a nice easy question this week. What are a few of your favourite examples of convergent evolution in reptiles from different parts of the world? I'm fond of the convergence between the African Puff/Death Adder and the Australian Death Adder. Particularly since the latter is not even a viper (let alone an adder) but an elapid.

Hi Clint! With our area switching the clocks back for daylight savings time, should we also change our timers or let the critters lights stay the way they are? Seems to me we should leave them alone.

I recently took in an adult kingsnake from a teacher whose school no longer allowed classroom pets. I've only ever had pythons and Boas, and I know what size rat to feed according to their size. But with this King I'm not sure what size rat or mouse to feed it because of its head size. It's considerably smaller than a pythons head would be for a snake this size. It is a large, healthy adult, so I would assume a small or medium sized rat, but looking at the head I would think nothing more than a large mouse. Maybe two feedings of a large mouse? Thank you in advance for any help. I've loved this channel for awhile and it's the only channel I support through patrion. Thank you to Clint and the whole team who makes everything possible.

Hi Clint, what's the difference between a mister and a fogger? What are the pros and cons of one over the other.πŸ˜€
