My son wants to breed our red eyed tree frogs (we have two males and a female in a large bioactive enclosure). We would appreciate a run down of the best way to achieve great results!

Hi! Can you talk about UVB for nocturnal amphibians? There’s so much conflicting information! For instance for whites tree frogs some say you NEED uvb some say it’s good to have it but you don’t need it, some say don’t bother as it’s not absorbed. Thanks!

The issue is really that this kind of natural invasive species isn't actually better from an ecological point of view because the problem is that they disrupt the complicated food web in the area.

Concerning invasive species in Florida. Don't some of the invasive species come in on debris from hurricanes? If an invasive species colonizes an area without human intervention shouldn't we let nature decide if they thrive or die out. Isn't that how species come and go in a natural world?

How much difference is there between captive born, captive born bred, and multigeneration captive born bred tegus and monitors?

The awesome starry night reed frog tank Clint built got me thinking...since tree frogs and dart frogs generally seem less adapted to swimming than other types of frogs, are their keepers required to set up a paludarium in a special way to prevent potential stress or drowning?

Hi there my friends! I don’t believe that many of this species are in the reptile hobby but, if at some point Varanus sparnus, the worlds smallest varanid, becomes available captive bred, do you think it could be the best pet monitor?

There is actual isopod food that comes in disc/pellet form you just sit on the surface of the substrate or cover lightly.

Do you think that reptiles are starting to be domesticated? Take the bearded dragon for example, if you look at the 6 traits of domestication, we already have a steady supply of their food, they have a fast growth rate, we captive breed them, they have a reasonable disposition and low panic levels, the only thing they don’t fit into is having a social structure, but this can’t apply to most reptiles. They haven’t shown signs of domestication syndrome besides morphs, but yet again, they don’t develop in the same way as mammals. So I believe that technically reptiles would be considered “domesticated”, but domestication only really applies well to mammals.

If Megalania/Varanus Priscus were still alive, would it be the best pet reptile?
Also on the off chance the answer is no, could you talk about the biggest land lizard ever?

I'm planning to build a tropical bioactive. I want to get it established before I put the animal in it. What do I feed the cleanup crew while I'm getting it set up, and as a supplement to the poop from the animal?

Is there any way to keep two morning geckos and not end up with a BUNCH of morning geckos?
