If I were to get a snake, this is what it would be. Simply gorgeous and enjoyable personality. The best pet snake!

If/When the babies come, there will definitely be a video!

All Canadian Reptile Girl

They've been on my channel a few times (well, not the babies, they don't exist yet)! They've had a couple videos all their own a while back, and been some others too as examples relating to the topic (strongest snake, beginner snake, etc). They're a lot of fun!

All Canadian Reptile Girl

I would love to see them on your channel!

They are such cool boas from one of the coolest places on Earth. I bought a baby male in spring and have never looked back.

With a lot of these really weird distributions in the southern hemisphere the missing link in the puzzle is usually antartica, which had a land connection to south America and Australia long after the breakup of gondwana, and which only became covered in massive ice sheets in more recent geological history. This connection is believed to be how marsupials got from south America to Australia.

Hedrigal

My guess is it would have been the opposite given their current distribution. They evolved in the new world and then made it to the old world.

Dumerils are amazing. Hoping to have some babies from mine in the next couple of months...

Hey Clint: Any thoughts on the likelihood of animals settling South America post separation with Africa by crossing the Atlantic between Africa and South America by swimming and stopping on the mid Atlantic rift or floating on storm debris?

Carlton Schaps

I want one so much, unfortunately there were none to be found at my local expo.
