Doves are decent ish pet birds. And the cooing is pleasant. They are not parrots however. And I agree with Clint. Birds are not good pets. Neither are fish if you care for them correctly.

It's been a journey..and after keeping a toucan..I'd agree an aracari would be my pick too ;) People come over and are afraid of our ball python and I tell them the one you REALLY need to look out for is our pink parrot..haha they're all hands on deck, all. the. time. It can be fun and rewarding, but definitely a whole lifestyle.

They are "free-flying" pet macaws and there seems to be a large number of people who are training large pet birds to do this.
