I'm pretty sure an indigenous person as myself would know about my own history. Sadly your view is impacted by colonialism and isn't the slightest bit true. First nations, and other indigenous groups were extremely peaceful while not immune to conflict and war the idea they're blood thirsty savages cannot be anything other than complete colonizers mentality passed down through the generations, and is pretty racist.. Indigenous people of the America's had their kids and land stolen if they weren't flat out killed. Especially true within Canada where we had residential schools. I do hope you can be more open minded!

Are you kidding North American tribes being peaceful? They slaughtered and enslaved each other every chance they had. This is the most ahistorical view that has been pushed in the last 70 years. It's complete hog wash. Native American tribes were constantly at war with each other. South American tribes slaughtered other tribes and offered their lives up as an effigy for their gods.

I think Clint's thoughts on humanity and tribal cultures being more hostile is misleading, hostility is very much an old-world problem, as most societies in North America and Mesoamerica were peaceful with very little aggression between each other, excluding some examples such as Aztec or Iroquois. ( and even in these cases its important to look at it from the pov of someone from that culture.) before colonization most of America was aware of each other, as evident through oral history and artifacts of ancient traded goods among groups. This also ties into the convo on how generations usually look down on elders that Clint brought up, as I feel that is more of an old-world bias as over in the Americas elders were treated very well! TLDR; I think compassion is more deeply rooted in humans than aggression, and believe compassion is vital for a species to become intelligent. I am writing all this because a lot of people aren't aware of just how connected and intelligent pre-colonial people are, I'm also Canadian indigenous so I like to educate! p.s I vote for corvids to be the next ruling species if all primates died out!

I would love to see more videos discussing which clades would evolve to fill ecological niches if a particular clade disappeared!

So, not a media guy not an editing guy, not a thief, Any of that. But can yall market a gif or short of Clint typing as a raccoon taking over your cubicle? Because that’s how most coworkers in the early 20s are on Monday.

HOLY MOLY. 39 more minutes :) I was already happy with today's other video (yup still today, I got 4 minutes left here) with the Telluvares reference. I left this video for after homework, as I was pretty hyped after watching the previous video. There's a bit of familial attachment to the magpie. Pre-arriving in the States in 1917 from what is now Georgia (the country) my grandfather was a child, with his parents and siblings (transliterated) name was Saroka. Pretty fitting - collector of little things, and general chatterbox. As I am, like my own grandfather.
