Magic Tavern Updates/News:
We’re delighted to be returning to San Francisco Sketchfest this January 19th at 7pm at Club Fugazi! You can find more info and tickets here.
We've got new merch from recent episodes in our TeePublic store!
From Arnie:
I usually spend all my time in the attic of my home, working and then podcasting at night, but I’ve actually been venturing out into the world a bit more lately. Including an actual week in-office (instead of remote) for a special Jackbox Games onsite, where people flew in, had dinners and kicked off some secret projects. I’m working closely with Tim Sniffen on a project for next year so I spent a lot of the week in a room with him, including on his birthday.
I also spent a couple days being interviewed for the Magic Tavern documentary, including my first time seeing what happened to the old Burger King (It made me genuinely more sad than I expected).
And this weekend I’m heading back to PAXUnplugged to play games and run a Jackbox panel. If you’re there and see me come say hi.
TV – In no particular order.
Twin Peaks: The Return
The Agency - I’ve only watched the first ep of this new American adaptation and it seems relatively promising. But let me use this opportunity to STRONGLY recommend the original French series, The Bureau, which is easily one of the best things I’ve watched in the last five years. I believe it may be on AMC+ in the US.
Survivor
Adventure Time
Man on the Inside
Taskmaster Junior
James Acaster: Hecklers Welcome
Movies – Best to less best. Pretty much everything was good to great.

From Matt:
November 2024
Happy belated Thanksgiving to one and all. I had a lot of fun celebrating Jessye’s birthday this month and prepping for my mom’s visit over the recent holiday. Also, we had a day of shooting on the documentary that went really well. Looking forward to seeing it. We’re getting there.
Audio:
Haven’t been listening to much of anything new. I’ve been enjoying deep sleep playlists as I try to drift off to Slumberland. Does that count?
Games
Been playing a lot of little games. Wordle and Connection. A picross puzzle game. Started Astrobot right after Thanksgiving (a birthday gift from Adal). It’s fun to pick up and play a bit. A fun platformer that is the correct amount of not-challenging for me.
TV/Movies/Web stuff:
We’ve been on a bit of an anime binge. Kaguya-sama: Love is War! is actually really funny and good. Dipping back into Zeta Gundam. Need to finish it up and get through the remainder of the Gundam Universal Century stuff. But even with that constraint…there is…a lot.
Food:
Made a blueberry ginger lime pie for Thanksgiving. That is my go-to pie now. Maybe I’ll make some more (and different ones) for Christmas. Getting better at cooking fish to have a crispy skin which just makes fish better. Also made some banana pancakes that were pretty excellent.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 3
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
Movies:
Wicked
Moana 2
Moana

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me

Other Stuffs:
Made some quick trips with Jemma this month: NYC (to meet our new nephew and see Ragtime, Stereophonic and Sunset Blvd.), Tulum (for a beautiful wedding) and New Orleans (for a birthday celebration and to gain 15 pounds of pure seafood).
We’re trying to figure out if we can make a quick jaunt to Quebec City before the year is out. If you have any recommendations for QC please send them my way!
Drove with my sister to Kohler, Wisconsin last week just to visit their incredible glass cafe, The Greenhouse. For a town full of toilets, there’s a lot of charm to be found.
Enjoying the books Bandit Heaven by Tom Clavin and Joyful Recollections of Trauma by Paul Scheer
Most importantly, this month Jemma and I officially adopted Martini (aka ‘Tini Weenie)! In October we took him in for foster care so he wouldn’t be euthanized and fell in love with the lil guy. He’s the only cat I’ve ever met who gives hugs. Like will actually wrap his paws around you and squeeze. He was found with his tail mangled so he had to have it amputated down to a nub, which can cause some balance issues - but we adore this tiny sweetheart and have adopted him and the term ‘Gotta Lub the Nub’. If it all worked out he should be gracing the cover of this newsletter!
