We had an incredible time in Charlotte & Richmond (especially eating at ZZQ)! Thank you to everyone who came out in support of our 10 year tour! We hope to be back on the road for more shows soon! If you happened to be at any of the recent live shows, we have show specific merch that you can pick up HERE! Each one is based on a moment from the live shows.

Happy Birthday to Matt Young (September 30th) to all who celebrate!
From Arnie:
The biggest bummer of September was that I tore my right meniscus, which has slowed me down considerably (and I wasn’t that fast-moving to start with). There are probably a few small references to it coming in episodes we recorded this month.
But I didn’t let it stop me from having a great month including seeing Lady Gaga live at the United Center with Emily, working on a fun semi-secret side project you’ll probably hear about in the next month or so, and of course, doing live shows in Charlotte and Richmond. Thanks to everyone who came out to those shows. We got to say hi to a lot of you and even discovered that a fair number of people made it out for multiple shows.

From Matt:
September 2025
We just returned from Charlotte and Richmond where we had two more excellent shows. Nothing new to announce (yet) We should have some new show-specific shirts on their way soon. Check ‘em out over on Dashery: https://hellofromthemagictavern.dashery.com/
It’s been a very busy time, so unfortunately I don't have much to report this month. Work, work, work. Settling into the new apartment (slowly) and a low-key birthday which included recording some Magic Tavern episodes!
Gundam Report: Haven’t been watching but Adal got me a DVD version of War in the Pocket. Can’t wait to check it out!. I also got a new Gundam t-shirt from Arnie (or rather Usidore did?).
Last month, I said “It’s almost fall,” but it’s stayed very warm here in Chicago. SWEATER WEATHER NOW!. Take good care of yourselves and each other.
Matt

Gumshoes & Dragons episodes #4 (w/ Beth May) and #5 (w/ Elyse Williams) are out now!
I guested recently on a fantastic new podcast by our friend Ross Bryant called ‘Push The Roll’. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some spooky TTRPG this October.
Also still loving ‘Like Minds’ podcast by friends Greg Hess & Joey Bland
You better believe I’m reading the new Dan Brown
My friend Levi Holloway wrote a Paranormal Activity stage show, that’s directed by Punchdrunk founder Felix Barrett and is going up at Chicago Shakespeare Theater this month! Levi wrote a play called ‘Grey House’ which is one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen so I have very high expectations for this. It should be incredible if you’re in the area and have a chance to see it. You can find info and tix HERE
Jemma and I finished Split Fiction on PS5. Big big fan. Now to download and start Hades 2...
Hit me with any great scary movies I should try and check out!

Adal, if you haven't seen Bring Her Back, you must check it out. Other good spooky stuff that you might not have seen before: New Life MadS Milk & Serial (Streaming on youtube for free, made by the awesome up and coming Curry Barker, the budget for this was only $800!) Hard Candy Inside (Make sure you watch the 2007 French version, nobody does bleak like the French) It's What's Inside (more thriller than spooky) And finally a Thriller that I want to shout about from every mountaintop, PLEASE check out Victoria directed by Sebastian Schipper. It is a true one continuous take for 138mins, all dialogue improvised, roller coaster ride. Truly a masterpiece of cinematography.
