So much that it felt like they realized the change gave them the perfect opportunity to do a better job addressing racism, race relations, bigotry and intolerance than their 1995 insulting retelling of the life of Pocahontas without degrading real-life people or an entire race of people in the process. And Disney would have succeeded in achieving that goal with this remake of The Little Mermaid, if it weren’t for one important factor...
