v0.13 Progress Report 2/4/25

Good morning! Apologies for the delayed report. I've been trying to stop drinking espresso and moving to mushroom coffee for my gut health (which is terrible), and I think I'm having withdrawal headaches! :D So, I forgot to make an update last night!

Coding

We onboarded our new programmer yesterday! They have much to read through and are still familiarizing themselves with Renpy, so they need time to adjust. Once they start working, they will organise and mess with much of the older code. I was the only programmer for a long time, and I am not the best at it. I'm better at writing and leading than coding, which is why I am hiring people better than me who can focus on the code part.

That said, since they are messing with older stuff and making it better, there is a CHANCE that v0.13 may require a replay. Hopefully, this is not a problem since many lewd scenes are being redone, so it will be sorta new! I understand that replaying can suck, and in a perfect world, the game wouldn't need that. But this game is in active development, which is bound to happen. With someone coming in to make everything consistent and perfect, we hope to mitigate this happening less frequently, if at all.

We are almost done connecting the v0.13 scenes and Notos to the map. Then it's onto testing and iterating until perfection.

Art

Another miscellaneous asset was made, and I plan to share it soon! Kokman redid Tay, and he looks incredible! He is now working on the tutorial character, then the Customers!

Writing

Once Notos is playable, I can spot issues and rewrite/add as needed. I haven't written for HL this past week as I was doing another project and working on my SFW stuff. I need to write something other than HL sometimes to keep myself sane <3

In Conclusion

Things are progressing pretty smoothly! Now that we are past the phone, we can look to other things with newfound vigour. Episode 6 is implementing many new systems and doing a lot of polish. We're laying the groundwork for future updates, which takes some time. (which is why I made sure to have 13 lewd scenes, as an apology <3)
