Here's the 1st lesson in this video tutorial series, where I go through the process of creating this German Shepherd character from start to finish!
This lesson goes through the process of drawing templates for the front and side views, which will be used in the next lesson, where I start to model the character.
I used Adobe Photoshop version CS6 for this, but the same process should work for any digital drawing software that supports layers. In fact, the basics would even still apply if you prefer to draw on paper and then scan those drawings in later. Just substitute tracing paper or a light box for layers, and you should be good to go! <3
I was originally planning on making this a $15 tier exclusive, but I know a lot of my Patrons are suffering financially from the effects of Covid, so I decided the $10 tier would be more appropriate. I'm planning on keeping these Patreon exclusive for at least 6 months before making them available elsewhere.
This is my first attempt at something like this, and while I'm pretty happy with it overall, I know that some of the audio and narration could be done better. You can expect me to improve at that as I produce the rest of the videos in the series x3
I'm planning to release at least one of these a month, and the next lesson will be modeling the low poly base mesh.
Enjoy!
