Episode 4: Cars and The Culture Wars

Our newest episode is now available wherever you get your podcasts. Aaron, Sarah, and Doug talk about the origins of the phrase, "The War on Cars" and ask why and how cars became a flashpoint in the culture wars. Are cars a red-state incursion on blue cities? Are all Americans socialists when it comes to cars? Plus, we discuss the hidden history of the first shots in the "War on Autoists."

Great episode! I realize the the podcast is "City Centric" but, from a cultural point of view, Edward Abbey wrote the following in his book Desert Solitaire (1968) which i think is spot on: "...the indolent millions born on wheels and suckled on gasoline, who expect and demand paved highways to lead them in comfort, ease, and safety into every nook and corner of the national parks?"

Benjamin Miller

I live in the UK and don't want to pay currency exchange charges monthly on relatively small sums (I know you'd prefer big ones!). Is it possible to donate as a one-off payment instead of monthly?
