I'm still ignorant of most Canadian history so I don't hold it against you for not knowing many of the references. There are some I probably don't know either. "News of the Week" magazine was made up for the show. Nora Ephron was a real person who became a well known journalist, writer and screenwriter. Her most famous movies are the rom-coms "When Harry Met Sally" and "You've Got Mail". The concert and violence at Altamont did happen. Cindy's diaphragm with hole in it is a contraceptive device still used by some women. You might look up the details online.
