Wrestle Me Live 2024 - WWF UK Rampage 1991 Part 1!

We're talking a short break from our Uncensored '98 run to give your our epic UK Rampage '91 shows!

The very definition of hot off the presses (not really - the venue emailed us last week with these files but chose an entirely incorrect email address.)

Enjoy! And thanks to all who attended and got Marc excited about CD burning software again.

Is it just me, or does Sgt. Slaughter’s entrance music sound like the opening credits to a daytime quiz show?

I was there and I always remember my dad saying “but why is he a tornado?”

Yup I'd picked up on it on one of your other videos that you mentioned you went to Wembley Arena and realised we were at the same event. Your take on the three man tag team (1st match) result was interesting. I was equally confused, though we simply booed the team who had the guy with the black eye patch. I remember the Warrior match, he won by disqualification, then the Undertaker jumped Warrior at the end of the match and carried him out in a bodybag. I couldn't get near the merchant stalls pre-show, the queeues were insane, i skipped off quick during the Bulldog V Perfect match and managed to buy that massive program book for th show from the vendors, though it appeared generic and not really related to this particular event. Still a great day out even if it was along drive back to Wales at the end of it.

I was there too - my first WWF show! I had no idea about the Hart vs Demo trivia, that's immense. My big memories of it are Warrior actually beating Undertaker (I SWEAR the Cagematch result is wrong), the hooky T-shirt sellers outside, and my dad managing to park right outside the Arena, being really pleased about it and then it taking an hour to get out because it was so busy. In a trivia note, this and Summerslam 1992 were the only times the Warrior ever wrestled in the UK, which seems completely surprising

I only ever attended one WWF event and it was this one at the end of the tour, you talk about it at 21:30. WWF @ London, England – Wembley Arena – May 2, 1991 (11,000) Dave Taylor, Tony St. Clair, & Danny Collins defeated Drew McDonald, Chic Cullen, & Johnny Smith when Collins pinned Cullen with a piledriver Koko B. Ware pinned the Brooklyn Brawler with a dropkick off the top Jim Duggan pinned the Barbarian Davey Boy Smith defeated WWF IC Champion Mr. Perfect via count-out Paul Roma & Hercules defeated the Bushwhackers when Roma pinned Butch The Berzerker (sub. for Rick Martel) pinned Tito Santana The Hart Foundation defeated Demolition when Bret pinned Smash Greg Valentine pinned Haku The Ultimate Warrior defeated the Undertaker via disqualification The big thing about this event it was the official end of Demolition AND the Hart Foundation, both teams requested their final match against each other at this event before splitting up. I was a big Demolition fan and my best friend loved the Hart Foundation. It's amazing to go back and see on a interview with Smash what the end of both teams was, and to realise you were there for the end of 2 iconic teams. Bret would become intercontinental a few months later at Summer slam, the Anvil was teamed later in the year with Owen Hart. Smash would job to Greg Valentine before turning into Repo man, and Crush would have a few months off before his face turn. The big thing about this as well is they advertised the Warrior on the tour to the UK before Wrestlemania 7, so we knew who was ging to win the career ending match!

The dark matches in 89 and 91 were for visa reasons. They brought the crews over on sports visas which were easier to sort out. The catch was that because they were technically organising a sporting tournament, they had to have a certain number of British "entrants". By the 1992 tours they'd switched to getting entertainment visas, the same as a touring band or show.

On the topic of fake WWF wrestlers in the UK, I remember a show in Kilmarnock that advertised WWF Superstars Hawk (maybe the same fake Hawk?) and Owen Hart. Neither showed up (real or fake) to the great disappointment of the crowd on the night.

I was at the docklands show in 1989. The main event was Hogan v Savage. If my memory serves me right Koko B Ware opened against the Brooklyn Brawler and the Rockers fought the Fabulous Rougeaus........sad times indeed 😢

Drew McDonald was still around in early 00s while I was in FWA, I was legitimately scared off that mean looking bastard, he was actually very nice when I grew some balls and said hello. RIP Drew

I never got to the Belfast leg of Rampage but at least I can say I got to attend this and now it's made me greedy for the next one. Imagine Kings Place had sent the audio file to the imposter Wrestle Me show. The legal debacle that followed between yourselves and whatsherpod would have been a good Dark Side of The Ring episode
