UPDATE: see the follow-up comic here, and the step by step process here!
Good boy tried his best!!
So remember I mentioned I was doing Hyatt's version of the Jack-o crouch challenge, when I posted catboy!Zephyr's version? There he is :) needs more training before he can actually pull the pose off, but he's still a good boy.
I haven't drawn a properly polished piece in a good while, so I used this as an opportunity to not fall out of habit! It was a little challenging, but I'm satisfied with the result - I felt like it was important taking some time not only to practice and push my skills a little, but also work on something spontaneous. I also did a couple of sketches illustrating the lead up and follow up to this, but I'll post them later along with the process shots for this!
Puppy!Hyatt is actually an AU that existed for a while now - only hadn't been illustrated yet. It's just one of those basic doujinshi settings where some humans have animal features and can be kept as pets by regular humans. Hyatt is a hyper and clingy golden retriever who keeps making advances and pestering his owner for intimacy - much to the latter's trouble, as he tries to be a responsible owner and keep their relationship platonic. Yes, the owner is Zephyr and he's also trying his best.
(Also might mention my choice of the word "puppy" comes from BDSM puppy play - and does not refer to Hyatt's age, as both he and Zephyr should be read as young adults and have a difference of only 2 years between each other! I also prefer calling him "puppy" as opposed to "dogboy" so he's not mistakingly coupled with catboy!Zephyr, which is an entirely different setting/species.)
On another note - I want to let you guys know I'm nowhere near done with the F*ck My OCs sketches, so please rest easy if you're still waiting for your OC sketch! All submissions were carefully read and saved. <3 I tend to work on my WIPs alternating betwen stages, but prioritized this one in the last days so I could catch on the trend while it was still relevant. Thank you so much for the patience!
