He wishes he had any other job (but not really 🤫).

Included some silly early doodles I did of them in May, before either of their designs were final!

Here's a bit of insight on Weifeng's lore! In our story, Nio is their city's oracle; their job is to be the bridge between the people and the city's arcane guardian - whom only Nio can see, speak to, and merge with due to their special build (or so is believed).

Weifeng's job is to train Nio's magical and spiritual skills so they can carry through and grow as the city's icon. He's teached Nio for years now, several days a week - so they've grown familiar enough with each other to engage in endless banter every training session. You'll never catch them admitting it out loud, but they do appreciate each other's company amongst so many stuck up older people.

You'll notice that Weifeng is more covered up here than on his ref - that's cause in this comic he's in teacher mode, back in the shrine before they embarked on a life-changing journey. The ref is him in battle/traveling mode. Nio wasn't used to seeing so much of his figure before. 🙊

These two (along with a few more party members they met down the road) live rent free in my head now so expect to see more of them! I recently started a reference for Nio as well :) they're a fun little menace.
