The "Brotherhood without banners" are followers of the lord of light as well. You will find out more about them soon. Just one quick note in your discussion though, you mentioned Joffrey's plan to make wildfire to defeat Stannis but it is actually only Cersei's plan, to burn Stannis's armies and she's been having the pyromancer make thousands of pots of it, Joffrey has no knowledge of this at all.

Stannis knew because he told Davos to smuggle Milesandre to Renly's camp in the previous episode. I think they blamed Brienne because she was there and she is a woman. They don't like her because Renly made her a kingsguard and a woman kingsguard is like unheard of. As to why killing Renly worked perfectly for Stannis: Renly got the upper hand because he got to business early. He escaped King's landing in season 1 and was rallying stormsend (the baratheon's homeland) before stannis even knew what was happening. also the Baratheon banners probably preferred Renly. But even with Renly dead, they are still sworn to the Baratheons and want revenge for Robert and their best hope now is Stannis. too many words but i hope that answers some questions
