I love it. "A HUGE PROBLEM for realism of space battles". No, it's a problem that real space battles are basically two guys in HiVis jackets, with road flares attached to a dayglo helmet, shooting at each other with Miniguns. Oh, and the miniguns are on tripods and once you pull the trigger they'll fire for short period of time. Whether or not you're alive after that time is immaterial.

2021-07-17 02:46:43 +0000 UTCAh, yes Beta Cloth. Heppenheimer's "Colonies In Space" mentioned this as something that would be used in the orbital colonies because silica would be readily available from lunar resources, organics less so.
